LMAO@ Ducati 1199's dyno number

In post #42 I said " I realize that my bike is not the greatest bike in the world, so don’t take what I am about to say out of context." but you did anyways.
It isn't about how great my bike is, they make newer GSXRs, likely faster Kawi's too.....whatever. The point that I am making is that BMW and Ducati constantly make claims about how they have the highest HP bikes etc. and they don't exactly tow my old scow. Their entire product support efforts are seriously lacking when it comes to their dealer network (outside Toronto) and their ability to supply parts within an entire riding season. You can try to make this personal by saying that I think I have the best bike in the world, which I am not but that just proves that you're not paying attention to the original poster making fun of Ducati's BS claims happening once again. I really don't care what you think of my cruise missile testing in the middle of nowhere with like minded lunatics, it affects no-one other than ourselves - let natural selection sort it out then. I've got more reason than most to not have any brand loyalty to Suzuki, so it's obvious you don't know me or my history. If you did, you'd know I ride the bags off my bikes and I want something that goes like hell and does everything well and is durable...........and I can get support for. I'm not past that.

How were the claims bs? They claimed 195bhp and it seems thats exactly whats being put out.

Reading comprehension problems?

The BMW does have the highest HP!

Incidentally, I've seen another magazine zyno the 1199 at 172whp. I've said my opinions about the quality of dyno numbers in absolute terms plenty of times... just sayin'.

So then, without a doubt, it should easily park my lowly old "common" bike. I wonder if they'll import a supply of parts along with that thing when they bring it here? Maybe this newest, bestest Ducati ever will still run if it gets wet!

Typical ignorant jibberish from someone who will never and has never owned a Ducati.

......."ignorance is bliss".
Also, will you please promise that I will never own a Ducati? please!
Please say that it won't happen to me!
Please tell me that in the future, when I turn the ignition key in the rain, that I continue to own a brand of motorcycle that will start and run! hahaha!

Number of GSXRs Ive owned: 4

Number of times they've left me stranded far from home: 4

 get real buddy, you have no clue ;)

Will their frames break?

"I've been riding Ducati for years" - lol..... no bias at all. I still want the RSV4 more than the other two bikes. This is the first test in three years where they didn't praise the Ape for its handling and ergonomics on the track.

I've been on street bikes since 1985, owned 7 GSXRs, couple of ninjas an R1 and a few other Japanese bikes. Other than my 85 900 Ninjas starving their cranks for oil due to wheelies (not the bike's fault really), my Japanese bikes have always ridden home. I can't say the same for the Ducati owners I've known.
If GSXR's and other japanese bikes are so dismally unreliable, as with your experience, why do they continue to sell so many?
I think you need to get real.
I suspect that I have 1 more current, valid Motorcycle Technicians License than you and spent better part of 25 years working in the motorcycle industry from apprentice, to technician, to shop owner to corporate head offices of manufacturers designing technical training and performing warranty parts failure analysis and being a service rep which means that I actually have a clue and you likely need to learn a bit about maintenance if your GSXRs broke so often. hahahaha!

Yeah because faulty stators and reg/recs totally break due to lack of maintenance  not to mention cracked frames...thats because of lack of oil changes right?

And my RC51 almost caught on fire when gas leaked out of the tank onto the rear header pipe... I suppose thats because I didn't lube the chain.

Youre obviously a GIXXER FANBOY and/or Suzuki employee.

I guess everyone should raise their hand if Yamaha gives you an M1 to play with in their shop.

Raise your hand if this is you!

I rode both RSV4's, the street version only pulls hard in a narrow window seemed to be neck n neck for a little bit when I rolled on with a friend on who was on his 06 GSXR 1000, it got killed otherwise though. It is a really nice looking bike though, trick looking...........on the other hand, the "Factory" version is a shreader! That's a nice bike! Very quick! Once again though, the support for an Aprillia is a big concern.

I beg to differ, my friend's pulls very hard through the whole midrange. That being said, my 06 GSX-R will also rip the decals off it, but I'd rather be riding the Ape... on the street (as previously mentioned) I am no longer a believer in "fastest is best" at all... what's best for me is the bike that gives me the biggest smiles. On the track? Gloves are off...

Rectifier/regulator and Stator failures are usually from either corroded or losse connections or running the bike with a discharged battery. Every rect/reg + stator failure I've seen in the last number of years is due to one of these causes. How often did you inspect or have these items inspected during the complete regular maintenance? and about your RC, I'd be interested in knowing if that was from a factory defect or another issue. I don't think that RC51's were going up in flames all over the place.
I'm not a Gixxer Fanboy, I just think that these high bucks Ducati's and the like aren't all their cracked up to be and a lot of people like the OP is one of them, like myself. My point still is that fact that these high bucks Ducatis should have been leaving my bike in the dust for the last number of years and they don't. Their bikes are laughable, their reliability is dismal their support is almost non-existent. If that's a better bike for you then fine, go get one and I'll add you to my collection of almost every other bike in my GSXR's rear view mirrors! hahaha!
