Your home is not your castle

Why can't people get this through their thick skulls? The police are not there to protect you. They are there to investigate (poorly) after the fact. How long it takes for them to come investigate is directly proportional to how far you are from the nearest Tim Horton's.

wonder how many days it would have been if they hadn't mentioned the gun

I bet she wished she lived in Brampton.. Over there a woman was being strangled (bare-handed) and raped and they only took 18 min to arrive.. They were even courteous enough to wait for the rapist to finish strangling the victim before entering the unfortified ground floor apartment

I guess there goes the theory of you being more likely being robbed by neighbourhood kids ;)

In Canada, there are 2 sets of ppl who are well armed, the police and the bad guys.

The odds aren't substantially changed by a single incident.

same incident, i have no illusions of the cops arriving in time to save me.

That was the determination; loading yourself up with booze and drugs doesn't make you 'insane.'

The last time I checked if I get boozed up, I can't get away with driving, let alone killing somebody, lol

Yup, that's the point. You made a choice to get drunk and stoned, so you can't use that as an excuse to get away with murder (literally).

Yeah. Self induced intoxication, acholol or otherwise, is pretty much a non-defense.

... unless you're a British Columbia RCMP officer, it seems. Someone needed to remind that judge, that it's no longer 1972.

OOOOOOOHHH, right in the bread basket!!!! :p

As long as I can keep my motion detector sprinkler system, you can try to look in my windows but you are going to be soaked... Actually have it for racoons...

NICE, That's actually a pretty good idea. More then likely if someone really wants to harm or rob you it will be done. But at least if you didn't this it would definately throw off their game plan.

Are we allowed to take videos/pics up skirts in public? Not sure if that's against the law in Ontario.

I'm sure there was a ruckus a few yrs ago across the border on someone pulling such a stunt in public. Was thrown out based on that fact, that it was in public where one cannot hold onto the expectation of privacy that one would expect within the confines on ones home.

Trying to see if that would apply here are well.
