Shafia family all found guilty of first-degree murder

The appeal is pretty much standard. I'd bet the only difference in the outcome will be his lawyer winds up with a new M5 (and I'm not impressed with them dropping the V10, either).

They have to show error in law, in order to obtain the appeals. I'm not convinced that's going to happen.

At this point, its too early to tell, but there will be going through the transcript with a fine toothed comb. looking for incorrect instructions to the jury.

I guess the judge is beginning to regret that "...so we can have this scum rot in prison for the rest of their miserable lives" comment :D
 
if my daughter is going out dressed like a whore, i will also have a problem, not gonna kill her because obviously that's a horrible thing to do but she wont be leeving the house dressed like a slut... let alone go marry behind my back????? shhhhiiittt!

as an adult she can't marry anyone she chooses? you talk like your daughter is a slave/piece of property
 
They didn't exactly dress like whores. Beside once someone is major they don't need anybody's permission to marry. Having a boyfriend, when you're a teen,doesn't involve a lifetime commitment and is more than normal nowadays.

I'm not sure what's not clear, but here goes: Once you are legally an adult, you don't need your parent's permission to marry anyone you like.

Edit: Was that sarcasm?

I'll field this one. If someone isn't a minor, they are a major, or more correctly of the age of majority. 18 to marry without consent from a guardian IIRC. 18 to vote. 19 to drink in Ontario. I believe you can get an Age of Majority card to use as photo ID if you don't have a driver's license.

Not if cultures are different. Don't forget women in some cultures are considered property and are not even allowed to vote or drive a car
 
Not legally. If they wish, they still can elope. We're still talking about Canada, right?

And now they are appealing for a new trial.

Too bad we can't fine em for wasting the courts time AND up their sentence to no chance of parole, ever.

I can't seem to think how it's ok to kill your own family member.

Another thing I get peeved when they call it "honour killing". There's nothing honourable about it

Well said... no honour in so called honour killings.. this is more "prominent" in areas between Iran and China... most common in uneducated village/tribal type localities. I dont wanna say "no place for this in canada".. the truth is theirs no place for this anywhere... has to be stopped... NO NOT THROUGH MORE FOREIGN INVASIONS... has to be a local effort.

Well i was referring to the habitual needs of certain groups to try an LIBERATE all the weak but resource rich nations of the world.. i simply preemptively shot down the"lets bomb them to the stone age" comments...

the move away from from ignorance must be internal cant force it on
