He didn't say he thought they were defensible. He asked why you, who have defended radical actions as legitimate backlash here in the form on numerous occasions why you would think they're defensible. Try to stay on point.

For me the issue is that here is that this Pond Scum murdered their daughters and now they are trying to get off on a technicality. Forget about their religion or ethnicity. They forfeited the right to live in a civilized society and there is no justification in the name of any religion.
