Shafia family all found guilty of first-degree murder

Just like the niqab ban people here are throwing this topic around to make it seem like they stand for justice for all... we all know who they are.. instead of a south asian muslim family doing this.. if it had been one of those hardcore amish groups that dont recognize secular law were to do this.. they wouldn't be saying a single word against it...
Another ineffectual attempt at deflection. The sad fact is that Muslims are doing between 91-94% of "honor" killings in the world (depending on the referenced source). If Muslims would stop this barbaric practice over 90% of the problem would disappear. Same with female genital mutilation. It is predominately Muslims who practice this barbaric stuff.

Link?

We'd be reacting the same.

How? They are all a bunch of murderers.

You're frequently dealing with people with mental health issues.

The answer isn't locking them up, or killing them, the answer is preventing them from getting guns so easily. How exactly you do that, I don't know.

Ya, people, huh? How many times have I heard the "niqab ban" trotted out in this election season? What niqab ban? Show your face at citizenship ceremony is not a niqab ban. Argue normal or don't argue.

Can we deport the family? I don't want my taxes to pay for these ****ed up people to live in Jail.
Wasn't Harper trying to pass a law that would allow that to happen? Too late now.

If they're citizens then yes, it's too late and it should be too late, because they have become our responsibility. If they aren't citizens then they can be deported.

I meant he was trying to pass a law that would allow the the government to strip them of their citizenship and be deported. I am aware that non-citizens can already be deported.

Maybe I'm mixing it up with some other idea he had. I don't really follow politics much.

No, you've got it right; the "two tier citizenship" crap. The idea was to strip dual citizens or naturalized citizens of their citizenship, if they were involved in something that they would call terrorist activity. I was just using the opportunity to voice my opinion on the matter, which is that we are responsible for those we claim as citizens and there aren't two different classes of citizen. At least not in my Canada.

I live about 5 minutes' drive from the site where the car was dumped. There is no possibility that someone could drive off there without being severely impaired (and even then, I highly doubt). It is obvious just looking at the site that you would have to premeditate the crash. I also know one of the detectives that arrested them, and he told me that the old man told him outright that he was disgraced by his daughters and did what was right (I can't remember the exact wording). So I don't even see how appeal is possible.

I know the site too...and if the family are claiming what they are then the lock should also be filled with stray pedestrians who carelessly fell in. Something I haven't seen.
