Paris Attack

Here is Shah's idea of free speech:

And as for Shah's admiration of the pinnacle of Islamic society, here is an apt article from Malaysia:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/22/malaysian-man-rape-marries-victim_n_3321086.html

This is not a one off either... back when I lived in Indonesia I saw articles almost monthly from both Indonesian and Malaysian sources where girls were raped (sometimes by the police) and then forced to marry their rapist.

If that is the kind of justice system you strive for Shah, why did you (presumably) immigrate to Canada?

I think Sharia law has trumped the koran, it certainly contradicts it.

...but the Romans used to crucify people and could only build straight roads.

As a motorcyclist, I'm not sure which is worse.

This is the crux of the matter. My parents who immigrated from Holland have always been appalled by any group who comes to Canada and does not try to fit into the culture. Where I grew up there was a large number of Dutch immigrants. They annoyed the heck out of my dad and he always wondered why they came here as they seemed intent on creating a little Holland. There is a great clip from the Muslim mayor of Rotterdam who spoke out against the Paris terror attacks:

He said exactly what my dad would have said. Simply brilliant...

On another forum, links were provided to a couple of good articles in the Globe and Mail that are worth reading.

Regarding differences in various rights and freedoms, values, belief systems, etc between countries ... Certainly, there are differences. Certainly there are those in every situation who think their own system is better than the others - or not.

The problem is not necessarily that any one system is better or worse than any of the others. The problem is when any one group attempts to thrust its beliefs upon others who don't necessarily want it.

Granted, the Americans are most certainly guilty of meddling in the Middle East (and Vietnam, and elsewhere).

But ... People who came from the Middle East, or anywhere else in the world, and came to Canada, or France, or the USA, or wherever, presumably in search of a better life or to escape whatever their previous country was doing to them, ought not to be trying to make Canada/France/USA/wherever into the country that they came from.

If they can't deal with freedom of speech and ALL of its consequences, they ought to either shut up and deal with it, or move back where they came from.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans."

It's one thing to try to bring food over and some comforts from your previous home, but making the place like the ******** you left...

Some ******* has taken hostages in a post office. Hope a female sniper kills him.

Too bad that that plan comes with a freedom and liberty tax

Does not have to. Start by minimizing western meddling in Muslim countries and equal proportion stop immigration from Muslim countries. Just thinking out loud.

I'm all for that.

In other news: Oxford University warns authors not to write about bacon, pork to avoid offending Muslims

The largest university press in the world has warned its authors not to mention pigs or pork in their books to avoid offending Muslims and Jews.

Oxford University Press (OUP) explained that their books must take into consideration other cultures of the world and must avoid mentioning pigs or “anything else which could be perceived as pork,” the International Business Times reported.

What a bunch of silly nonsense.

Thats just dumb now.. not mentioning pigs.. it does not offend muslims.. we avoid them.. we dont carry a knife just in case we spot a pig some where... thats the height of this stupidity I hope

Less interference will by default result in less immigration. . Mind you not at first. . Things take time to settle down.. less wars mean less refugees from those war zones.

Why don't other faiths go stand with him or people that agree with him?

Why leave the guy standing their alone? Show support by standing with him.

Do those Mosques get tax breaks afforded other religions?

because he is known as a crack pot within the muslim community and opportunist.. i read the full article his translations are not particularly accurate. and dare i say self serving..

mujahadeen is not someone who fights only non muslims.. for example in syria...
mujahadeen is referred to someone who fights oppression and tyranny such as the taliban when they fought the soviets.. or when the resisted the US invasion..both were oppressive to the LOCAL population granted the taliban weren't particularly better

definition of jihad: to struggle on the path of enlightenment/righteousness both internal struggle as well as external struggle

not killing random people because someone told you to
