who's still riding? (in toronto)

Still riding, pretty cozy with my gear but my hands get frostbite when I get on the highway.

I'll stop when it's constantly zero or less.
I have the Gerbin liner and then just bought a cheap pair of walmart thin gloves, my hands were never cold at any point this morning, that plus my Gerbin jacket liner and a $70 Mark's Hyper Dry jacket and the ride was a very nice and comfy one.

The best part is that none of this is bulky

Will the Gerbing's liner fit a more technical jacket? I saw the pics, it looks kinda thick. My Spidi leather jacket is kinda tight as it is with the back protector and armour.

Gerbins liner is quite thin. As a jacket I am not impressed with it. Great heating elements though.

I had the Gears liner and it burned my back and stopped working, I opened it up and was not impressed with the cables inside. The gerbin jacket so far has been awesome and together with the liner gloves and the dual control unit makes it very comfy

thanks for the input.

I think i'll make it an investment for next year. With all this news about brine closer to the city, I might as well put away the bike sooner than later.

I have a mesh jacket but it came with a very good insulated layer. Wearing that with a full set of thermals underneath and good winter leather gloves and I'm good to go. As low as 3 or 4 degrees I'm okay. And it's gotta be 100 dry though.

Anybody have any experience with heated gloves that are powered off a battery pack or other means rather than a line off the bike? I never really need a heated coat because my layered coat is fine to the temps I ride down to, so I'd rather not run wires to the bike if I don't need to. Heated grips are an option, but it's the backs of my hands that get cold more than the palms.

Heading out for a ride right now!! It's beautiful in Goderich so I'm guessing it's even nicer in Toronto:)

I went for a great ride earlier today. Feeling nice and relaxed now :)

Went for a ride up in Bradford today, after about 30 mins I got a bit chilly, shouldve wore my riding pants instead of just jeans and also shouldve wore my warmer insulated gloves and wouldve lasted a lot longer.

Really warm today. Just wore my textile jacket and a T-shirt and was warm enough for the most part. With glove liners (not heated), I rode for about an hour without my hands being too cold either.

It's currently -2 in Montreal with 40km/h wind. Tons of bikes out. Even cops with their bikes are still out and about. Screw that noise. I was grumbling my seat warmer wasn't heating up fast enough. Lol.

Still riding. Haven't bothered with the heated gear yet.

When I asked my BMW mechanic to mount my TKC80's on the K13S, he urged me not to ride the new bike through winter this year, something about salt and heavily-computerized bikes. Sigh.

Anyone have a cheap 650gs twin for sale? :)

I rode today. I made sure to layer up and I was STILL cold both going to/from work! I don't know how you folks without heated elements find it nice. It was traffic on the DVP this morning and it was a blessing in disguise, because as soon as I hit the Gardiner and opened up the throttle, it felt like my hands were going to freeze! It was no more than 3 minutes of constant over 100km/h and my hands were already getting numb. I can't even imagine if traffic was flowing from Eglinton. I guess i'm just that intolerant to cold.

You need better gloves, obviously your gloves dont work in colder weather. You wont be 'comfortable' riding in cold weather, but you get used to the cold eventually the more you ride in cold weather.

I'm still riding too. 5 degrees is about my limit. Layer after layer I bundle up from my scarf, snowmobile mitts http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/fxr-leather-mitts.html, to my long johns and wool socks. I don't push it too much as tire grip is always dicey at these temperatures.

Was planning on riding to work today after a week due to the really cold mornings....of course it has to rain like a bastard today....warmest day of the week :( SeaBreez....do those mitts even allow you any type of fine control on the turn signals / clutch / brakes?
