Too many taxes, payments, and fees in Canada.

Did we find out which country is the poster talking about? Cause I like to know where I can take a busa to 270 (the roads must be great), and a pack of marlys cost 2.50.

HA HA HA HA HA HA

Nope, there's still been no clarification.

I think it's a mystery trivia game. Here's my shot: I would have thought with such low income tax, somewhere in the middle east, like Dubai. But then I saw that they have local whisky, which doesn't jive with the middle east. Neither does the idea of staying there to open a business, as in many countries, ex-pats and immigrants can't get property rights so easily The roads have to be pretty good, for him to ride that fast, which rules out a lot of low-cost countries. Southeast Asia is pretty much excluded because I don't think you can ride a Hayabusa in most of those countries. Could be Eastern Europe, could be South America. I'm going to go with South America, because he refers to local "whisky", and not "vodka". And the low taxes tell me it's not a socialist country like Venezuela. I'm going out on a limb here, and I'm going with Argentina.

Sorry, I think it needs to be phrased in the form of a question:

What is Argentina?

Trust me you can by copious amounts of alcohol in the UAE if you arent a Muslim.

I'm flattered. Why, do you think I'm on the right track?

Now I'm thinking, it might actually be Mexico. The street fighting makes sense, but the 7-day workweek doesn't really.... Hmmm.

And for what it's worth, as far as detectives go, I also like Dr. House.

Yes, but would you call it "local whisky"?

If it truely is local whisky then it has to be somewhere amongst the british isles. Maybe he means the local price of the whisky

Funny you mention Argentina...I was thinking that it was Australia, but then he said something about the marlys for 2.50. More like 12.50 there. And I figured that it must be a temperate country since he's also paying for heat, but I can't think of any country in Northern Hemisphere where the taxes are that low, and you can you get away with the 270
km/h. Maybe Estonia. But, for some reason, thought of Chile. B/c of street fights and ex pats. Not much ex pats in Estonia from what i saw and heard.

Some places in Eastern Europe would have lax law enforcement and a laissez faire approach to motorcycles, but I would think heat, taxes, and smokes would be more expensive. Still, could be Czech republic (pretty girls, lots of expats). If it is, I might switch sides in the argument, because I could probably live there. They have good hockey.

Ooooh, sorry. The price is too high for the showcase.

I'll go with Singapore. My reasoning? My IT department shut down the server for maintenance, so out of boredom I wiki'd the tax rates around the world. Singapore fits the 3.5-5.5% tax bracket if he made around S$30000, which translates to roughly CDN$22000, which also explains why he left the country to work here. I've also been told that they have obscenely cheap smokes.

and if did 270 on the busa, he'll be in the ocean in 2.7 seconds or into Malaysia in about the same time :) And Singapore is expensive, very very expensive, except for food.

I agree with you in principle, but he didn't mention how expensive anything was, just that the government was taxing him less (unless I glossed over the post?).

In any case, all I do know that this mythical fantasy land is nowhere in Europe, since
a) If he were living behind the former iron curtain, that bike would be gone in 60 seconds.
b) Smokes are fairly pricey there, and apart from Switzerland and Leichtenstein, taxes are ridiculous.
c) He'd get thrown in prison for that kind of speed, unless he had a pretty substantial bribe for the copper that pulled him over. In which case, why did he move here?

Due to the post found below by Dankyyz (below), I have removed all information about where I lived (it was in this post). I was trying to avoid a Canada vs Them thread, hence leaving out where I worked overseas. Dankyyz turned this into something of a personal attack so I think I'll leave my personal information out of this.

What a lame, simpering thread. All the costs...how can you guys do it...FRIGGEN WAHHHHH!!!!

Dont like the CURRENT state of affairs? Go back to WHEREVER and take Agave with you.

With all these taxes I am looking at incorporating offshore. I have been doing a lot of reasearch on this subject lately. It is very different than what it seems, and you can easily get scammed. However in the end you can reduce your taxes substantially.

If any one here has any experience with incorporating offshore please contact me.

Ah, here we have the rare Canadian redneck. Careful kids, don't get too close...the ignorance can wear off onto you.

it is pretty ridiculous here. Compared to the usa I was at $350 for full coverage insurance a year for a litre bike. Payed much less income tax, sales tax, and whats with the cost of water here? It was like $20 a month over there for a house. No bill 203 either!

I will say Easy is a nice guy and doesn't deserve your abuse or stupidity.
For the record>
He's come from the poor part of Lower Slahbovia where everyone owns a Hyabusa and smokes while riding around drunk.
