Tips for knocking down price? Buying a new bike.

I figure now is the time more than ever to mention while pursuing an alternate ending to my contract cancelation, I had been actively looking for another bike.

Alas; meet my new mean b!tch.

For sure! I'm still a newbie so our skill level is probably... Noticeably and considerably different.

Congratz bro

I have, but I think maybe that might be taking it too far. Then again I might be able to work out a better deal.... Or else.

You're right, save those techniques for a litre bike purchase.

Oh come on!!! Now you decide to tell everyone this, after 11 pages?
I think this would change a lot and may be grounds to get your money back...

I'm not even sure what to believe anymore though..
.....

That's just not true. He's mentioned it plenty of times.

I've completely forgot about the one thing that originally had me really irked about this whole contract. The salesman just pointed out the finances and everything and pointed to the signage. He had not got the proper model OR the proper colour which had me really livid in the beginning. He told me "We'll just change it". I told him I want a new contract so there's no ambiguity or discrepancy so I get what I want. He says "It's okay. Don't worry. It'll be okay. We'll just change it"

Anyway. I'm going to post the back of the contract to see if I can get some help here.

I think Paul said it best:

The dealership has EVERYTHING to gain by refunding his money. A lot of people don't post on here, but a lot read.

....

To me, that is what it comes down to. I won't be shopping at Kahuna, and won't be recommending it to anyone any time soon.

Having such a terrible image, at this time of the year is certainly not good for business.

I think it is fair to say that keeping those $500 will cost them a lot more than they expect.

Enjoy your new-to-you bike JCHC91! :p

To be competely honest with you guys, the only reason I'm even still considering a refund is because one of the other salesman I was talking to in absence of the original mentioned a refund is almost positively ensured, quote "I know you'll get it back. 99.9%"

Guess the 0.01% kicked in.

That leaves 0.09% unaccounted for. Is that for the faint hope clause?

Oops added a zero. Whyd you notice that!

The Agency provided me a special app. for that. It helps in filling out the reports.

Congrats on your new baby. Also I ride to Thornhill everyday and like Marl I ride a cruiser so need to have the skill level to ride with us ole folk..lol

Call TDMM about insurance I did and I saved myself $1600 a year..

This thread proves that there is no hope in this country.

Everything for a $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Nothing else counts...

You're absolutely right. When people can't understand the concept of a contract then there is no hope...

Haha thanks. She's scary for me haha. Test rode her in - 14 windchills. Pinkies were numb for like 2 days...

No hate on cruisers! My friend let me borrow his 250 Rebel for a season last year. So comfortable but SOL when parts break / fail.

TDMM?

I will be with State Farm most likely. I know my insurance will not be higher than 289

TD meloche monnex - I'm with them as well - whopping $70/month for 7 months for full coverage - but I'm an older fart. Good luck out there.

Im glad you went this route, being young myself I couldn't imagine being in debt for the amount you were about to be. Tough luck, seriously, on the deal with that other bike and it sucks you can't get your deposit back. It's a lesson that could have went a lot worse if you did go through with the contract though. I'm sure you learnt two important lessons out of all this, never put your signature down on paper unless you're 100% sure its the right choice and the other "if its a good deal today, it'll be a good tomorrow." Meaning, impulse buys are BADDDDD!!! :)

p.s
Oh and KLAHUNA POWERSPORTS, you're really stepping on your own toes here- nice job champs ;).

Congrats on the bike OP. All's well that ends well.

Post the name of the Salesperson @ Kahuna so people can be forewarned.

did you get your money back?
just get a sign and sit on the sidewalk for an hour
or approach someone to use your deposit and they give you $450 cash
they can buy gear or a bike
