Tips for knocking down price? Buying a new bike.

Negatory on the situation. I've called last Tuesday and had that salesman slam the phone at the end of the conversation.

I will be going in on Monday and/or Tuesday to talk to the GM. Hopefully he won't have a day off or moving bikes.

Lmao what kind of sign should I have on it? I was thinking I should rally a few people and with pickets "No To Kahuna!" and "I just want my refund! :("

That's a thought. But I don't think it'd work as the deposit is under my name, no? They're very unwilling to move the deposit to anything else but a bike so..

Who knows.

If you want attention i recommend " Kahuna hates Gay People" OR "Kahuna is Racist"

Nothing scares people away like potential protestors who are gay or are claiming you are racist. For bonus points figure out a way to throw religion into the mix, just dont make it catholic, everyone knows you wont get anywhere with that. Claim antisemitism or something along those lines.

Didn't mean to squid out

I've got proper gear but I wasn't planning on riding back and having it towed. But I had to test ride it before I gave payment.

Is my video that atrocious ;p

It's a ninja ex6f

Yes! Excellent advice! Bash their business with false information so they sue your for punitive damages!

The advice in this thread is incredible.... lol

They say when you argue with a waiter as there is always a fear they will spit in your meal...

Nice Kawasaki ... where you planning on going for parts & service?

Not kahuna.

Last year when my friend ate sh!t on my friends bike, Rosey Toes was the only place that was willing to fix the bike.

So right now, Rosey toes is my go-to

I'm glad you have a plan - Lots of good reviews of Rosey Toes on this site although I've never been.

If you want the enjoyment of doing stuff yourself you might want to get to know a local dealer to order specific parts or should there be a recall etc.. Perhaps this is all available with Rosey Toes I just don't know.

When I owned a Kawi I enjoyed dealing with these guys. (Filters, shims, chain, sprockets, brake pads, plugs, even a water pump) Mods and other stuff came from various places over the internet.

You are going to get replies all over the place, kind of like asking if xxx is a good brand of bike. If you are happy then that is what matters.

Ps. You don't need stands to do an oil change, just tires on ground and upright to get the oil drained properly. Warm up the oil (5 min idle is fine) first, it'll help with the drain.

For sure. Just curious why people have something against them. When I dealt with the guy, the guy was up front about pricing and did not hold back on commenting on the condition of my friends bike. Lots of swearing too haha. I find these types of people are usually more honest.

An update in regards to the kahuna situation.

Took @XenoVibe advice and kidnapped the owner's kids.

I may have also broke a friends knee cap.

In the end they were charmed by my good looks and everything worked out.

Real situation: went into the dealership today expecting to just have a cancellation confirmation today.

Asked to speak to the GM and spoke with him after about 5 minutes.

We had a discussion on the options and I told him that I'm not really looking to drag out this situation so I am okay with an in store credit.

He took a little bit to consider this but in the end was okay with it.

TL;DNR: Got in store credit.

All in all, it worked out in my favour. Dealing with the GM, Alan was a pleasure and was accommodating to my situation.

I agree that while my whole situation started when I had my foot up my ass and will not be making the same mistake again.

If I do consider a bike again and am able to buy brand new, Kahuna is once again a contender.

However, I would not deal with the salesman again, I do not think.
