It also opens up a big can of insurance whoop ass. Conceivably, if he got convicted they could use the clause regarding criminal activity to get out of paying for both vehicles and to dodge the lawsuit from the thief's family and avoid the one from his gf (if it's insurance company money, her suing him could be quite profitable). He may have ruined his life because his girlfriend is a moron and he is hot headed.

Girlfriend could very likely be on the hook for the entire loss of her SUV, for not taking even minimal security precautions. Keys in. Engine running. Door unlocked. She might as well have just handed the keys to a random person on the street. Insurance requires at least a minimal exercise of care.
Yikes, all kinds of crazy going on there. Can't say I wouldn't of chased the guy either if given the opportunity, I would be doing my dandiest to follow someone even for a hit and run. I would bet a large sum of money thief wasn't wearing a seatbelt and pummeled into the windshield. Given Marco Muzzo is out of jail I wouldn't count on a life sentence for this guy trying to catch a thief.
Bad driver/ dumb criminal with a gun in road road incident.
That Dundas crash is close to our hood. The road curves close to there and I bet the road was pretty slippery at the time due to the weather. They must have been moving pretty fast given the damage.
An american crosses into canada and quickly picks up a stunting ticket. He thought the signs saying 80 km/h really meant 80 mph and so he was cruising along at 90 mph. Whoops. Moron.

Then it must have been before this sign, that's right before Dorchester Road. And he ignored the captions on all of the limit signs and, if memory serves, the signs at the border crossing too.

I lived just west of Islington until the late '70s and remember a devastating crash into that same tree with similar results. If you're travelling at twice the speed limit, there is very little room for error on that slight curve.
They'll use the same argument as racing. Other guy crashed because he was doing something stupid to try to get ahead of you while you were doing something stupid. Like in the US where a murder in the commission of a felony makes everyone guilty of murder even of you were the guy in the car and never touched the gun or saw the victim.
He also got charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm for squishing his girlfriend. That one will be hard to beat (although crown may accept a careless plea).
Can't make this stuff up. Tried taking advantage of shorter test wait times in Guelph I guess, instead of Brampton where people are selling their time slots. Did not come out ahead.

I'm thinking driving tests should incorporate a component to evaluate mental health. He obviously has the wrong attitude and will forever be a menace on the roads.
And this dump truck driver is going for a record even for a gravel hauler. While I don't agree with penalties roadside like 172 brings, if government and society are willing to accept that is legal and justified, cancelling this guys license on the spot for filling out a no-defect found inspection seems entirely reasonable. I don't know why OPP black out company names. The facts are that charges were laid against this company.

I'm guessing they grabbed the old trailer from the back corner of the yard for low load season. I suspect the truck and trailer were overweight for low load season but probably not over rated weight. As for how they happened, OPP used a potato cam so it's hard to tell but hole does not appear perfectly round. If it was torch cut, stress risers from that make cracks almost inevitable.

No they go to Guelph and clog up the whole thing there too. I really wish there was a rule that your road test had to be within 30 km of your home address or the closest station
