The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Dashcam? Spin around and get a plate number? I am assuming hit and run as that's what gravel trucks do.
Dash cams don't usually record sideways but do show who is in what lane. In one case mine showed I wasn't moving so someone hit me. I didn't hit them.

Then there was the scam artist a few years ago backing into cars and claiming he was rear ended.

Ragu. Dude got the full 4chan treatment.

I went down the 417 to 416 ramp a couple of days ago.
It's a long curved two lane ramp, and there was no one to my left on the ramp.
I got down to where the two 417 lanes merge onto the 416.
At this point it's supposed to be four lanes wide.
There was a large transport truck in the right lane of the 416.
My lane and the lane to my left disappeared into pile of unplowed snow.
I was the bad driver for not anticipating this.
I did manage to slow the car, and keep it aimed in the right direction in my lane.
Much better than sideswiping an eighteen wheeler.
Watch for unforeseen circumstances out there.

At the point where I'm beside the truck, the road is four lanes wide and there's still a lane to my right for a couple of hundred metres.

Saw this at mccowan and 401 last week. Range rover reversing on the shoulder...

The act of simply reversing on a high speed road is a two point infraction. Never a cop when you need one.
Points rarely matter. A dangerous driving conviction seems reasonable here. This isnt a second of inattention, this is a conscious decision to do something that could easily kill people. If they were on the shoulder, the lesser charge may be a better fit.

Is it legal to drive the wrong way on a highway if you do it in reverse? Didn't think so. Dangerous driving.

Short distances to park on a residential street is permitted.

They did it in the movie Hooper, and I've seen people back over 100 metres, down an entire one way street, but I don't know if it's legal.

Moving in the proper direction or facing in the right direction and moving in the wrong direction?

One way street was moving with the front of the car facing in the direction of the arrow.
Opposite direction that the traffic is supposed to flow.

You learned from the situation. Most don't.

I looked outside just before going to bed last night and saw a typical self centered moron's car.

Our street is a typical suburan road that is wide enough that even if two cars were properly parked there would be room for two oncoming cars to slowly pass, assuming the drivers knew where their fenders were.

With Fridays snow two to three feet of road is covered with a snow bank. Obviously Mr or Ms Important needed to park with room for a passenger to get out so they parked three feet away from the bank. They were parked in the normal driving lane. A dark coloured car with no lights.

They could have let their passenger out where there was a plowed driveway and then at least parked a few feet closer to the curb.

The total lack of consideration to others is disgusting. IT's illegal to park more than 12 inches from the curb. If the snow prohibits that park somewhere else or get a shovel.

Also the city plows our sidewalks with a skid steer or equivalent. The plow guy the other day took out the bottom of a lot of lawns. One neighbour that was at the bottom of her driveway as he came by said she could smell marijuana. He was also seen on his cell phone.

Welcome to the future.

I must ask my psychiatrist friend if the self centered attitude can be purged out of someone. Probably not, stupid just gets older and more experienced.

the direction your vehicle is facing is immaterial. The direction of *travel* is what is mandated.

Worked a shift last night, was waiting to cross Bay st. @ Richmond and got the walk signal. I start to cross and some guy to my left blows the red and slams on the brakes about 2 feet from me. He rolls down the window and yells "F YOU", I reply in kind and just walk on. If I hadn't been wearing attire with the employers logo on it I would have asked if he wanted to get out of the car and make something out of it. He then proceeded to drive 3 feet forward and block the crosswalk because traffic was already stuck there prior to his genius decision to ignore the light.

Wayyyy too many people need a good slap in the face.

Oh and about 3 people making right turns onto Richmond going against traffic, about average I guess. One person who noticed the oncoming traffic just calmly changed lanes to the right until they had no where to go. Then sat nose to nose with another car honking at them to move.

How did we get to this point?

A driver blatently ignores one of our most crucial traffic laws and gets his nose out of joint when he's not allowed to just carry. Has any one of these POS scum of humanity types ever stopped and considered the value of a human life besides theirs?

Who does he work for?

If the person doesn't give a damn about a human being would you trust them with finances, workmanship, customer relations?

His future occupation should be dung hauler.

A couple of years ago a chick blew a red causing a crash. Being on the phone with 911, I checked with the victim who was OK. Then to the runner. The first words out of her mouth were "Is everyone in the other car OK?" That I can live with. F You I could not.
