Sat June 9- Ride 507/elephant lake/algonquin

You gotta be ******** me.....I've always wanted to do this ride... but I have my first 1000km service booked for Saturday at 8...and they said it takes 1 and 1/2 hours. Maybe I can get them to speed it up a bit!!
Or see if you can reschedule :D

Or that lol.......I'll see if I can get anything done this week some time. If it comes to it, I'll just ride a bit "spirited" to catch up to the group.

If it's raining Saturday I may do a similar ride on Sunday.

i maybe interested as well if everything goes as planned this week....

as for the route up to there, is the plan to take mostly the side roads or 400 highways, or a lil bit of both, don't post the route, just inquiring...

No highway as of yet, and I don't think there will be any but most roads are 80km/h

Hey Zero_5

I love your signature! Viva la figa -Yam-yam....ahah

If Sat does not work out due to weather, ill do this run Sunday just for kicks if I don't end up going to the Guns, Guns, and girls ride.

If the weather stays the same as it is I for sure will do it Sunday instead of Saturday and my buddy with his 250 will be going, too. I'm not doing 800-1000 kms in the rain if I don't have to. Riding in the snow in Jan-Feb and in 4c in April with rain and heavy hail all the way from Montreal to Toronto put me off riding in bad weather needlessly while good weather is all around on other days.

A garbage bag I just might bring one now :)
I think we could get an old beat up motorcycle cover and cut some holes in them, might be better than a garbage bag!

Just a suggestion for a lunch pit stop. some one recommended Webers on HWY 11 on the way to Algonquin

http://www.webers.com/index.html

That's quite a ways off the route, plus that place gets packed on weekends and is really not that good IMO.
There are so many greasy spoons up in that area will be no problem finding a spot to eat.
I personally like the "mad musher" on the west side of the park. There is also a decent place in Dorset rite on the water.

Saturday looks like a washout :(.
Bancroft shows 90% 15-20mm rain.

:(
yeah I am looking at that and is not getting any better, if Toronto gets rain Algonquin will get full showers for sure.. :( no fun.. lets see what tomorrow brings

Sunday looks like a better bet for me anyway, bike won't be ready until saturday morning :(

And I've never been to weber's, buddy at work said it was fantastic so I thought I would suggest it. I've never been out to algonquin so you'd probly know much better than me :p

I reaaaaaaaaaaaally hope this ride is still going to happen. Damn weather!! I haven't been up that far and wanted to go with a group that wouldn't be riding spirited.
