Sat June 9- Ride 507/elephant lake/algonquin

I would suggest meeting up a little out of town, as red lights makes it easy to lose people (like last time)
Or right next to a highway.

A good leader shouldn't have a problem with lights. As long as lorenzo doesn't lead we will be A.OK ;)

It'd still make it easier :P

ON A SIDE NOTE: ordering new tires today (hopefully I'll have them tuesday, and installed soon after) so i'll have a fresh set for the ride!

Lol yep I totally agree ....once I am not leading we will a okay ..... Yeah yeah I'm coming for sure to check the scenery out

Yuuuuup!! I'm definitely going to miss out on this ride. Just sold my bike earlier today. Post some pics up on this thread please! I'd like to see what I missed out on.

haha yeah lorenzo leads himself only :). i agree with sabex , its better to meet out of city especially if there will be many riders coming . bskin too bad you are not coming , u were leading pretty good . are you getting a new bike ? 600?

I may Join this little chin-dig, once route is planned out ill meet you guys on way up.
I know the Algonquin area very well, if you need route help LMK.
Or will sweep the group if needed.

Booya I do need a sweep or leader and I do sweep, so I will be asking you for help if you come.

For all others, your questions will be answered later tonight. (bit busy at work today, and the weekend was a little crazy :) )

Sure I have no problem sweeping the group, I'll probably be 2up so will hang back and keep the slower riders on route.
Will depend on your route tho, I'm in Barrie so will be joining mid way according to your planned direction.

Would there be a lot pf twisties up im that area and would you guys ride spirited through them, or would it be a relaxed pace the entire ride?

I dont know if I'll be going, but I highly recommend to add this to your route.

I did that a couple weeks ago and it is simply amazing, especially the 518. Be careful on 2 though, there was some sand still in the centre of the lanes at some corners.

Thats on the opposite side of were the group plans on riding, but yes good stretch. Lots of sand and blind corners, definelty not for beginers.
P.S. not a good idea to post maps or routes on here. popo watching ;)

Im guessing that will depend on the lead rider.

He said he is planning to go through Algonquin, which is right there anyway.

Why would it matter if police are browsing this forum? You think they would really waste a day sitting on the side of the road just praying someone they saw post on the forum mentioning the road may be going by at possibly slightly more than the speed limit? I swear half the members are wayyyyy over paranoid here. Normally, police do not plan their day by what goes on on local forums.

And yea, about not being for beginners, depends how fast you go. I got my first bike (fz6r) in January of this year but this is my third season riding. I was following an experienced rider who knew the highways well. As a result of the 518 the left side of my rear is worn right to the edge, and on the right maybe 5mm of chicken strip left. Was a very fun day.
