Police seek motorcyclist who fled from Lawrence Avenue crash

So i just did a quick search and found that in 2010 Toronto had about 12,000 Break and Enters with roughly 6000 officers city wide and a clearance rate of 27%, i was recently watching the news and learned that most crimes such as these are solved using 222Tips and with information given by the public to the cops. To me it is very rational to believe that the police cannot do their job without the assistace of the public. http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/publications/files/reports/2010statsreport.pdf

So if your attitude is to not assist the police than i'm sure your fellow neighbours, who may have seen the person who broke into your home, should be justified in thinking the same way and not giving the information he has to you or the police.

Personally i would rather people help stop idiots from doing stupid **** then to be complacent in their idiocy.

That would be 2 b&e cases for each cop and they only solve .5 of them in a year. Wow, our cops are hard at work! Now cue all the cop nuthuggers explaining how they all don't investigate crimes and how 5,999 of them are needed to sit at the side of the road all day with a radar gun.

Hahaha that's a nice term for alll these quasi-cops! Ahahaha!!

I lost my respect for cops in 2003. I was also a "cop nuthugger" and believed they were there to serve and protect. I will never forget the day when my friend's brand new Kasawasi Ninja was stolen from his spot even before he got the plates for it. He called the cops and they told him to drive to the station and make a report, he told them to come and look at the sorroundings and get video footage, they told him they were "busy". But look at these cops now putting an Amber Alert on a runaway biker that crashed into his buddy, or look at them how they charged that idiot teenager after he said in a BMW forum how he had sped to 90 km/h on a residential street, they subpoened YouTube for his IP and went through all that trouble to find him yet when you really need help when your new bike is stolen these cops tell you they don't have time for you.

Well screw you, I ain't doing your job for you, I will save my time and talent so when my bike is stolen I put it to good use.

You haven't been caught.

Yet.

Caught doing what? I rarely do dumb stuff.. and when I speed I keep it under HTA172 and am prepared to take the punishment if busted.

Ill never get busted for wheelies. I choose my time carefully.

Thank you, there is some hope for the GTAM community after all.

You all refer to the rider as "him" how do u know it wasnt a chick?

And maybe he isn't a retard just didn't have insurance or couldn't get anymore tickets?(ya ya I know u will all say that is being a retard)

If I was riding with my buddy doing stupid ****(which I don't do) and went down and I was unable to leave but he was I would tell him to get the f out of there. No need for both of us to get booked

I guess its easy to leave out all the other crimes in that report when it suits your point.

If you drive by the same radar trap every day that does not mean that every cop in the city is taking turns there. I live and drive in this city every day and rarely see cops doing radar. Given the fact that there are as many kilometers of roads as their are in Toronto i find it hard to believe that you are seeing these cops everywhere you go, there just aren't that many cops to facilitate that.

It's not like their job is static, perhaps they really were busy that day with other things.

Hang on. What. Answer me honestly. Who have you ever seen check the oncoming lane for traffic traveling in the opposite direction to the direction of that lane?
.

Dude I live downtown. Whether I'm walking, cycling, riding or driving I always check both ways...even on 1 way roads.

Lol. So true. Downtown traffic, be it human, animal, or machine....is like dealing with zombies. They come out of everywhere.

Just like ninjas. Blending in with their surroundings, then they strike when you least expect it.
True story.

Actually... no there aren't. Left turn lane can ONLY proceed when safe to do so...the only way this is the bikes fault is if the left turn was at a stand still waiting to turn left and the bike hit em. AAAAAND FYI "allegedly" means:

The implication is that, by saying allegedly ,the speaker is distancing himself or herself from the controversyand even protecting himself or herself from possible prosecution.

So this could be what the cager claims, hell i know if i was in the wrong i'd claim otherwise

i love how everyone on this forum is an expert at everything, not only are you "immune to bullets" but you enforce the law and discovered cold fusion.

JUST so you know
Nothing about single or double lines. Section 150 deals with passing on the right. As long as you haven't broken one of the below rules, and you pass in safety, you're okay to pass on a single OR double yellow line.

Passing
vehicle going in same direction

(8 ) No person in charge of a vehicle shall pass or attempt to pass another vehicle going in the same direction on a highway unless the roadway,

(a) in front of and to the left of the vehicle to be passed is safely free from approaching traffic; and

(b) to the left of the vehicle passing or attempting to pass is safely free from overtaking traffic.

And section 149...

Quote:
Driving to left of centre prohibited under certain conditions - 149.

(1) No vehicle shall be driven or operated to the left of the centre of a roadway designed for one or more lines of traffic in each direction,

(a) when approaching the crest of a grade or upon a curve in the roadway or within 30 metres of a bridge, viaduct or tunnel where the driver’s view is obstructed within that distance so as to create a potential hazard in the event another vehicle might approach from the opposite direction; or

(b) when approaching within 30 metres of a level railway crossing.

Exception

(2) Subsection (1) does not [COLOR=#009900 !important]apply
,

(a) on a highway divided into clearly marked lanes where there are more such lanes for traffic in one direction than in the other direction;

(b) to a road service vehicle where precautions are taken to eliminate the hazard; or

(c) on a highway while it is designated for the use of one-way traffic.
