Police seek motorcyclist who fled from Lawrence Avenue crash

Toronto Police can look all they want, they won't be getting my help.
And then people complain about the so-called "blue code of silence"

What do you have against helping the Police take a reckless idiot off the road? Especially one that gives a bad name to other motorcyclists.

sounds like another car making a left turn without looking :)

Police charge the riders but who is at fault insurance wise?

They are so one sided. When it comes to helping you, they don't put a lot of effort into it; Unless it benefits them, like speeding tickets (and the likes). But when it comes to other things where it doesn't really benefit them, then it's like who-cares type of atitude. The only thing that would change my mine if they come knocking on my door or giving me a quick call and saying, we caught the crooks, and had them do community service, etc.

Is that gonna happen, I doubt it. But I'm waiting for them to prove me wrong. That's the only thing would that change my perception of them.

Sorry, but what does that have anything to do with this event?

Two completely different units investigating two completely different scenarios.

I fail to see how helping some moron evade the Police somehow helps right the "wrong" that is TPS being unable/lacking the resources to solve your B&E. I love the hypocrisy too, "the Police can't catch the bad guy that broke into my home, so I'm going to help someone else get away with a crime."

Maybe if more people reported tips, the person(s) who broke into your house would have been caught by now.

So i just did a quick search and found that in 2010 Toronto had about 12,000 Break and Enters with roughly 6000 officers city wide and a clearance rate of 27%, i was recently watching the news and learned that most crimes such as these are solved using 222Tips and with information given by the public to the cops. To me it is very rational to believe that the police cannot do their job without the assistace of the public. http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/publications/files/reports/2010statsreport.pdf

So if your attitude is to not assist the police than i'm sure your fellow neighbours, who may have seen the person who broke into your home, should be justified in thinking the same way and not giving the information he has to you or the police.

Personally i would rather people help stop idiots from doing stupid **** then to be complacent in their idiocy.

Remind me to buy you a burrito or something if ever we go riding :p

+1

well played, sir, well played

well, this is right down the street from me, i go through that intersection all the time, largest leash free zone in the GTA at thomson park there...well, the weather is here and kids are out again having fun, but this time somebody got a hurt real bad...i hope they find the culprit, but chances are, he'll show, right after he has chatted with this lawyer...

I could not believe some of the comments posted on this thread, but you sir have restored my faith in wisdom on this forum. Keep it up!

Maybe if the police didn't treat the public like dirt on their heels, people might volunteer more information. There are hundreds of stories you can google with one click about someone that called the police with information and had their dog shot or were harrassed or charged when the police came to take their statements. So much for "serve and protect," and they ***** about how they are perceived by the public? ...

Agreed! Once a rat, always a rat. :x

How can you rat on somebody you have no affiliation to? Prisons are not populated with geniuses so keep the prison jargon inside those walls.

Nice. I don't wish you ill but should you happen to be lying by the side of the road not doing so well, think about what you just wrote. Just sayin'.

Saying "You don't wish me ill", then saying such a thing is sickening, and I truly hope one day you realize just how terrible it is. I will not help the Toronto Police because I choose not to help the worlds largest criminal organization - the POLICE. I'll tell you this; How would you feel if I said that I truly hope someone else is faced with such a situation, with you lying on the street fighting for your life, with your black ninja 250 smashed, faïence knowing he can't do anything about it; knowing it's all about to slip away "azia". Just sayin'.

Next time, simply don't say anything. You've obviously never had to face a situation like that in real life, because once you do, you'll realize just how strongly it can, and will, impact your life. I personally wish that no one (you included) is ever faced with seeing a fellow motorcyclist lying on the side of the road, because sometimes, you'll be the last person that motorcyclist will ever see or a talk to.

Maybe once you've faced such a situation, you'll realize just how disgusting what you said really is...

Welcome to my block list.

Lighten up Francis.
Not once did he say he wished you were laying hurt on the street. It was a reference that if you were in need then hopefully people might choose to help.

A few bad apples.....

You can also google about how aliens built the pyramids and how the earth is only 4000 years old.

Look who needs to lighten up. How does rating out the second cyclist help the first? I am not assuming any guilt on any party. If the second cyclist wants to come forward they can. By some of the comments here it seems that this guy is guilty and convicted already.

Who gives a **** if it helps the first rider?

It helps me. It gets one more ****tard off the road, or perhaps just off a bike since he won't be able to afford to ride anymore. You think I feel like I belong to any type of 'brotherhood' with dipshit riders like these guys?

Hang on. What. Answer me honestly. Who have you ever seen check the oncoming lane for traffic traveling in the opposite direction to the direction of that lane?

Based on the reported incident, the riders were just being careless squids.
