I guess we differ in a few ways then. I would have problems with people all around me carrying as I'm quite aware of the stupidity that we are all capable of. I'd rather one stupid incident from a seemingly normal person without a firearm than one with. That's why I'm in favour of restrictions on several levels. Let's get things straight here, I'm really talking about concealed carry of small arms too. It's a little difficult to pull off concealing a hunting rifle. I haven't got a problem at all with hunters or target shooters but when it comes to arguing about weapons for self defense there's no way I want to see the country I live in have the same news headlines as the trigger happy loonies to the south.

Hey if i could have a police officer with me 24/7 i wouldn't say id want concealed carry to exist, however thats not gonna happen. theres 1 cop for every how many thousand people?
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Reality is the cops would, and always do arrive after the fact, only to identify the dead, help the wounded and try to figure out who did it. If you wanna be victim then go for it, but some of us would like to stand a chance, and perhaps not see our family members or friends slaughtered. I'd rather die trying then just sit there like a sheep HOPING for the best.

Sorry, but the infinitesimally small advantages you might think you have by carrying a weapon are vastly outweighed by the disadvantages of a populace carrying weapons as amply demonstrated by the MASSIVE fatality list that arises every year from our neighbors to the south. You are more likely to be struck by lightening than to be put in a situation where you would need a gun..I suggest you buy a hat with a 30 foot copper spike on the top and run thick electrical wire from it down to your shoes.

Ok, in your scenario....no, I wouldn't want a gun, I'd want a tank. Reason...in my tank even if people misidentify me as the bad guy and shoot at me (because I'm presuming you're allowing everyone to be armed) then they won't kill me. We were being hypothetical right?
Once again, if you think there's enough of a chance of you being in a situation whereby you need to carry a weapon in this country you really need to get out more and travel the world and realize how vanishingly small the chance of that is here.

And no not only i would be armed. People who would like to be, passed the mandatory background checks, obtained a license and permit to carry concealed. I, like you, wouldn't want a crazy yahoo to be around me with a gun. The same way we don't let just anyone be a cop.
And yes ive been out of the country, ive been to every province and major city in canada, every state in the USA, along with mexico and a large part of europe. I have seen first hand the difference between canadian and american gun culture, over the last 10 years ive actually spent majority of my time in the USA. i've also walked the streets of LA, Miami, New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Houston you name it i've been there. I've visited the good parts and areas you wouldn't wanna be.
I got robbed at knife point in a nice place called Thousand Palms California by a group of white gentlemen, almost got my throat slit in northern Alberta by a nice native gentleman. I witnessed a group of fine young men beat another man until he was unconcious, and while he was out cold use his head as a football back in the mother land.
Im not that old, but i think i've seen a good portion of what this world has to offer, the good, the bad and the ugly. I haven't lived a sheltered life like alot of people. So i believe that in a free country (ya i know lol) one should have the ability to protect themselves and their loved ones. If this makes me paranoid well then i guess im paranoid. But atleast im logical, and willing to admit that ccw isn't perfect. There will always be a wacko, they might use a gun, car, bomb, or a knife to try and cause as much damage as possible. You can be delusional and try to ban bullets, guns, cars etc... or simply deal with the fact that you cannot prevent crazy people and instead think of what you can do if you have to deal with the situation.
You on the other hand believe to have all the answers in life, and can't even admit that if in a ****** situation you'd rather live then die lol

Agreed. Nobody criticizing this guy was there. They are going by the story in the Calgary Herald by Tamara Gignac. There were even rumours that the aggressors were actually spokespeople for the stampede. That was quickly proven false.

Sorry..you're absolutely right. All crazy people are easily identifiable which is why there are never any mass shootings or multiple fatalities each year in the US. In the future I'll be sure to get all my facts from the NRA which is most definitely not a red neck bunch of paranoid xenophobes.

Anyway,I'm not anti gun as the other guy stated. I'm anti everyone carrying guns. I love guns actually, I'm just happy to fire them on a range or at spinning clay disks.

Jc if all you can do to support your position is to resort to name calling, well it shows your position is weak to begin with. Avoiding the question of whether or not the perpetrators of your so called massive shootings was or was not authorized to carry a firearm legally proves you don't know. To find the root cause of these massive shootings might be to audit what drugs these guys are being prescribed by their Doctors.
