I Honestly got like barely two hours run time and like only maybe 30 minutes of recording when I went snowboardin the other day. It seems to go down to one bar within half an hour. I only used the wifi for a few minutes just to play around. I'm going up again this weekend, only this time I'm going to make it one button play to conserve battery. I'll be disapointed if it doesnt last me the better part of the night.

I have the black edition as well, and so far here are some of my comments:
1. It's much smaller than the previous GoPro, and lighter which is awesome
2. Recording over 1080p is useless for cause my laptop can't render 1440 on the fly, let alone 2.7k and 4k.
3. Pictures are hella clear but still fish-eyed at the edges
4. I full charged and left my GoPro recording yesterday on 1080p60fps, and it lasted just over an hour. Yes, the first bar went down after like 20 minutes, then it went down a bit, then stayed on zero bars for like the last 40 minutes. Might grab the wasabi batt packs for my bday.
5. 1080p60fps video is 3.8gb per 17 minutes about (file size limit on FAT32).
I'm going snowboarding with it today so I'll be able to comment on its battery in the cold, which i expect is half as good.
PS anyone know a good shop to get the accessories cheaper? Looking for a suction mount in particular.

I'm having similar experiences with shoddy battery life as well on my Hero 2 when out snowboarding. I think it's the tiny little battery they use. it's only 1000mAh iirc. I wouldn't complain one bit if they doubled the thickness to go to a 2000mAh battery, as it would only add about a cm to the total depth of the unit. I got it more for use on the bike, and am working on a way to power it in it's little waterproof case. I have a knack for getting caught out in the rain, and I don't want to have to pull over to put it away.
dam. 300 dollar go pro and 1 hour battery life. i'm so glad my fist full of AA batteries powers my cam. then again just keeping 2 spare AA are enough just in case they do run out. there's my biased, useless opinion.

I've seen these things up over 12000mAh, but there's still the problem of keeping it powered in it's waterproof case, plus, where the hell you going to keep one of those? just duct tape it to your helmet I suppose lol

Lol, actually I did look. Good grab for anyone looking. When something was sold out for more than a week, I thought it was a safe assumption that they wouldn't be getting more. I think they saw my post and wanted to screw with me, or maybe you work for them...... j/k.
relax folks. if the cheaper stores have it in stock, then by all means pick it up there. i've visited all those sites you guys pointed out and either they dont have it in stock online or in store (FS/BB) or $329 on amazon.
