does anyone even have a 4k monitor?

can the human eye even tell the difference? how close do you have to sit?

is the 1080@60fps slow-mo or just 60fps?

60fps is 60fps.

4k is good if you want to take still pictures and make enlargements to poster size.

Yes, they are available at the high and ultra-high end of the spectrum (and with projectors).

Yes the human eye can distinguish. It helps at very close viewing distances but also on large format display sources (100-200+" projector screens for those of you that have them in your man-caves etc...)

This is great news!

The Hero2 should be dropping in prices shortly!

Fine by me, I have too many SD cards and accessories that will only fit the original and the 2

It's most likely for cropping the video without loss of quality, create smooth progressively zooming shots from just regular original footage!

I've got three of these 27" 1440p monitors hooked up, OMG mind blowing! For $300 you'd have to be retarded not to run one. Just sucks it doesn't have HDMI :(

I went with the Yamakasi. Apparently better than the Achieva. But there are versions with multi inputs.

I couldn't tell the difference between the Yamakasi, Matrix Neo (cheapest), Qnix, Achieva, etc. lol! I just liked the frame and base design on the Achieva so that's what I went with :D

Off topic here, does your Achieva have a built in VESA mount? The Yamasaki doesn't and its really bothering me as i have a dual monitor stand thats being unused...

It can also record @ 4k resolution! but at 15FPS only... but 1080P 60FPS XD or 1440P @ 48FPS.

But I think Go Pro kinda screwed over people that bought the GoPro Hero 2...

Huh? I got the H2 for $219, the H3 black is listed at $400! Like anyone is really gonna use 4K except for the pros? The thing also uses microSD (boo), and may not have a removeable battery (I switch between 2 to last a day since the USB was too fragile for regular use on my bike). And tell me how would the H3 capture all of this years footage for me? Does it travel in time too?

If slimmer and lighter boggles your mind so much, you probably fell for the iPhone 5 too.

According to that, if I sit at least 8 ft away from my old 27" CRT, then I have nothing to gain by upgrading to a higher resolution.

Not sure about that.

Don't know about the numbers but if you lose the CRT vs Flat Panel aspect then the concept is basically right. Of course, there are other advantages to having higher res such as increased real estate.

Back on topic... you can pre-order the Black Edition in either Motorsports or Adventure kit (they're identical) from cyclebots.com for $369.98 USD shipping to Canada included. Use code: loyalty
I'm not affiliated with them, just thought I'd pass along the savings. Beats paying $450 +tax CDN.

Did you order via eBay? If so, did the seller use FedEx? If they did, is FedEx anything like UPS (Bad)? Looking into picking 2 of these to replace my Yamakasi's
I did, and they shipped them by DHL. The box said "commercial sample" and I only had to pay DHL $10 brokerage to clear them, no tax, no duty, no nothin!

It was the one I linked. I see they no longer offer DHL, and standard shipping is now Korea post and they charge you $20 extra for EMS/FedEx?
