For anyone looking for a contourHD...

Looks like i will have to wait until tonight before i can post it.
 
After coming across this thread, I stopped by BB and picked up one. Excellent video quality, the audio is noisy but not any worse than the GoPRO unit I had before (Destroyed in a crash at Mosport). I prefer the buttons on this one Vs the GoPRo unit. Built in lasers to aid with the alignment of the rotating lense is a nice feature. All setting can be changed by connecting the unit to a computer through an USB connection, also used to recharge the battery. The software is 100% comparible with MacOS.
 
I've had my Contour 720 since last year and it works awesome... My Mom and her boyfriend were always borrowing my camera, so when I told my Mum about this deal she bought two of them LOL. Which is dope as hell if you ask me. By the way, my camera has survived being ripped off of a dirtbike helmet (my own velcro design that sucked ***), and taken a direct shot from a paintball at less than 20 metres. They are tough mofo's.
 
Picked one up at BB yesterday. I am liking it. very easy to use. does anyone know where to buy the accessories in Toronto? I'm looking for the suction mount and the profile helmet mount (right side)

Thanks for the vid. The 'mod' makes a big difference. Sounds like your bike is powered by wind. Cant hear any engine.

Cant the contour twist its lens while mounted, so you dont end up with a sore neck watching the videos?
 
yes, i did the mod basically a day into owning the camera (as soon as i heard the horrendous wind noise) therefore the only video i have on the comp with the wind noise is one of the first videos, while i was still positioning the camera and angles. I forgot to twist the camera to the proper orientation as seen in the second part.
 
which mount are you using? i saw a few reviews that said the sticky pads will fall off mid ride, now im cared to use the sticky mount on my helmet
 
sticky mount....when the camera fell of the bike it wasnt the sticky pad that let go, it was that velcro material they use to join the different mounting solutions.

to be honest, after using the double sided tape, i'm absolutely 100% confident in using it. I bought a whole bunch at a dollar store and just kept using new ones. No problems, but Do keep the strap on, i didnt and now that camera is somewhere on the side of 401. lol
 
thats reassuring

yeah i kept the strap, theres a small screw close to where my visor lock/release switch is, i just unscrewed it looped the string around and tightened, that way if it comes loose its still on my helmet
 
Put a $20 deposit on one. If I change my mind by the time it arrives I get my $20 back. Should be Friday (today) or Tuesday.
 
just picked one up today at FS. mounted sticky on side of helmet going to try it out next ride. Hope it sticks well.

what brand of double sided tape are you buying? thanks
 
I bought the last one at bestbuy in newmarket :lol: If i said if i decide i dont want it i can return it in 14 days , however anyone interested in buyin git off me for what i paid let me know. I will post up before returning IF i return it
