federal election - who are you voting for

You guys may think I've over reacting but this is the end for Canada. He's going to cause a recession, the $ will be worthless and his divisive policies towards Alberta and the west will see them separating.

Yeah, you're overreacting.

I I keep hearing freak outs about the intended deficit - heard a good perspective keeping notation this morning reminding us that it's 1% of our GDP.

Not so scary all of a sudden.

Sometimes one must invest to succeed. Although I'm all for balanced books most of the time, sometimes when things are not going well you have to spend something to turn things around. As long as it's fine prudently, and 1% of the GDP isn't crazy talk.

Only when appropriate. I was looking forward to paying off my mortgage. :(

And the elections outcome changes your ability to do that how exactly? I'll have mine paid off in a few years still, I see absolutely no way any new government could change that.

.

You have to invest in the right jobs. Sending people out to dig holes and fill them in again is not job creation. Its what they did in 19th century Workhouses to keep people occupied. When we exhaust that $10bn deficit what happens? do all these people go back on Pogey as it wasn't a real job to begin with.

Alberta will leave. Why should they pay for this guys blunders, and I fully support their decision.

Oh well. 39% or 45% (depending on who you believe) of Canadians voted for it. Clearly they know something that I don't

I can only think of this.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SoU4qzZlcw

I guess we're all riding on it now :-)

The one thing that I've consistently noticed in Canada is that people fail upwards

Ha Ha. The only thing I had a hard time with in that movie was casting Yosser Hughes as the captain. I always expected him to headbutt someone.

Although its ironic given the current circumstances. Bleasdale would have had a field day.

I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Besides, why do you equate asking for a blessing, as doom and gloom?

I could ask the same question of you. Doom and Gloom much?

And I quote "Now may The Lord have mercy on our souls." Sounds more like a doom and gloom comment than a blessing request. But if it is sure I'm on board.

I try not to, but sometimes it's tough not to :(

Voting against the party to rid the leader.

It sucks but good luck to Trudeau. Harper couldn't do better so let's hope Trudeau doesn't make it worse.

I'm not a politico or even connected but I bet Justin has handlers and advisors. I saw a video interview where he was asked what he would do first day in office if elected. If silence is no answer then he had no answer. Now that he's elected I'm sure he will be advised on his daily movements. The country will be fine.

Alberta will leave.

I suggest you you look at the riding results out there - you may be surprised at the number of votes that were leaning red, and don't forget what happened not that long ago at the provincial level.

There will be some having a hissy fit, sure, same as every election...but making a knee jerk suggestion that they're going to "leave" is ridiculous.

Nigel Wright might be free.

He's going to cause a recession, the $ will be worthless and his divisive policies towards Alberta and the west will see them separating. There was already a grass root effort under Harper, this will push the issue. Canada, or what's left of it, will be a very different place in 4 years.

Too late, he can't put us in a recession, we already went into the second recession with the harper party. either his advisors will help him guide canada out or we'll stay in a recession.

repairing infrastructure is hardly digging and filling in holes, it's something that periodically has to be done, like repairing a roof before it needs replacing entirely.

I am more concerned about people like Bill Blair being liberal MPs, I foresee Fantino 2.0. I hope this guy doesn't get a seat on the inner circle, he should not be minister of anything.

It would be interesting if all the "blue" voters left canada, the federal elections would become a contest between orange, red and green...

What Recession. The economy, with the exception of the oil industry is booming. I've added 70% more workers in my company this year alone - and these are good 6 figure jobs - and just landed multimillion $ contracts with Telstra and RTM in Malaysia because of the Pacific deal :).

I suggest if you're industry is struggling its dead anyway. No point flogging a dead horse. Look for something in a growth sector.

To be honest, I took and investment to do a spin off for 4K and HDR content processing. That company was incorporated in Delaware as I knew Mr. Potato Head would win and now I'm going to roll the existing company into it. Why would I pay Trudeau 50% corporate tax when I can go to Delaware and pay 7%. The US is open for business. Canada, and more so with Potato head at the helm, stifles jobs and investment.

The moved the Camaro out of Oshawa. Why? Its not because the workers are better or cheaper. $175 million and 500 jobs go to Lansing because of tax incentives. If you want to attract investment, you cut taxes, don't double them. If I own a business and can go anywhere in the world, I'm coming to Canada and paying higher taxes because I like the climate?

I'll also make sure I spend 6 months and 1 day out of Canada so I don't pay his 60% income tax either.

Stick a fork in Canada. Its done

One of the other things I will mention is that I can't find workers in Canada. The last 3 guys I hired came from India where they actually train people for post production work because of Bollywood. I had to have their immigration process fast tracked.

This.

But you know any time something goes wrong in the next 4 years, all the blame on him and it will be a shame.

Especially things out of his control like a terrorist attack or something. People are waiting to lay blame starting today.

Just like in the spectrum, the red now appears to be to the left of the orange and the green.

Oh oh, We have a moron here. This guy is thick. He's failed at absolutely everything he's tried in his life, what makes you think that he will suddenly be a success at running a country. He's been living his life hiding behind Big Daddy's name and in Big Daddy's pockets

I hung on with the liberal party through all of this in the slight chance he would loose and we could actually elect a leader. I think what pushed him over the top was the Nuremberg style rally ads.

I'm reminded of that great line in Snatch, "Now we are **** ed"

I'm in Whitby and you want to see what we elected. She has the IQ of a 10lb bag of nails.

Regardless. I just resigned from the Liberal party and you are looking at the newest member of the NDP :) Most liberal strategists already left a year ago and joined the NDP.

Proper ****ed? Haha. But Seriously, we're in a recession already and our dollar is fairly close to worthless. By policy I might add. The conservative made no secret of it's intent to drive the dollar lower when we were at parody with the US. Look it up.

P.S. You are over reacting, sorry. Honest opinion.

Well, you got what you asked for. Now may The Lord have mercy on our souls.
Only when appropriate. I was looking forward to paying off my mortgage. :(

But hey, now you can look forward to being double ended by the Fed and Provincial Liberals!

Well, I think we know who's on the SUN subscriber list...
