federal election - who are you voting for

This.

But you know any time something goes wrong in the next 4 years, all the blame on him and it will be a shame.

Especially things out of his control like a terrorist attack or something. People are waiting to lay blame starting today.

Sorry, but who are you saying is responsible for the country now? No one?

What Recession. The economy, with the exception of the oil industry is booming. I've added 70% more workers in my company this year alone - and these are good 6 figure jobs - and just landed multimillion $ contracts with Telstra and RTM in Malaysia because of the Pacific deal :).

I suggest if you're industry is struggling its dead anyway. No point flogging a dead horse. Look for something in a growth sector.

To be honest, I took and investment to do a spin off for 4K and HDR content processing. That company was incorporated in Delaware as I knew Mr. Potato Head would win and now I'm going to roll the existing company into it. Why would I pay Trudeau 50% corporate tax when I can go to Delaware and pay 7%. The US is open for business. Canada, and more so with Potato head at the helm, stifles jobs and investment.

The moved the Camaro out of Oshawa. Why? Its not because the workers are better or cheaper. $175 million and 500 jobs go to Lansing because of tax incentives. If you want to attract investment, you cut taxes, don't double them. If I own a business and can go anywhere in the world, I'm coming to Canada and paying higher taxes because I like the climate?

I'll also make sure I spend 6 months and 1 day out of Canada so I don't pay his 60% income tax either.

Stick a fork in Canada. Its done

pretty much anything that can be done anywhere else is in a race for the bottom. GM moved out of Oshawa because Harper sold all the GM shares. Tax isn't the only thing that affects location. there are companies that do business in higher tax areas and thrive. Harper's been cutting corporate taxes for a while now and it hasn't helped.

Knew this was coming.

No I don't mean that.

I mean there are people who have nothing going for them in their life that are salivating, waiting for something out of the control of our new PM, to go wrong so they can lay blame and say "see if we had Harper/CPC this wouldn't have happened" or some ******** rhetoric broken logic like that

Too late, he can't put us in a recession, we already went into the second recession with the harper party. either his advisors will help him guide canada out or we'll stay in a recession.

Psssst.... Justin never actually said we were in a recession. His exact words were "I'm not ready to stand by and watch our economy slip into recession". I can find the clip on Youtube if you want. They were chosen very carefully to panic the sheeple, but not leave himself open.

Did you ever read Animal Farm. I can't recall the exact quote and I'm paraphrasing but basically "When the trough was empty the animals looked at each other differently" :)

Why would the government own and plough money into a car company, and a bad unprofitable one at that. It's pissing cash away.

I've started 6 companies in the past. 5 have had very successful exits and one went tits up and sold for the debt- you can't win them all. One was bootstrapped with a $25MM investment from BDC (Business Development Canada) and sold for $2.2Bn That's the the type of investments the government must make. Not to invest over, and over, and over again in bad car companies with terrible product and expect a different result. See, Mulcair got that, he's actually a sharp guy

The Lansing deal was strictly about taxes. GM get 5 years tax free at that facility. It was brokered by Bill Emerson who pretty much owns Detroit and Lansing as he bailed them out.

BTW, in my industry the corporate tax cuts were a boon. Billions of dollars of investment from Prime Focus, Ericsson, Imagine Communications, Cisco, Rogers, Shaw Media, LGI, etc. I don't know if you have ever been to that Cisco office in down town Toronto. Its not possible to cram another body into it. These are well paying jobs driving GDP. Whats wrong with that?

I never said Justin said we were in a recession, Stats Canada did, the second recession under the Harper Party's rule.

Lets see the folks they put into the cabinet/portfolios.

If all else, we can look at having a new parade for pot and call Canada, Amsterdam deux.

I have a feeling the potheads heard the promise of free Doritos for voters and they can out in droves.

Kidding.

Federal politics have the least impact on daily lives.

It will be interesting to see how Trudeau will deal with the Provinces looking for hand outs. Especially Wynn.

They can't bad moth each other but I suspect Wynn isn't going to get everything she wants from Mr. Trudeau.

Looking forward to the 1% wealthiest paying for my middle class life style. Certainly won't be able to afford my Starbucks pumpkin spice latte anymore.

Cynical? Maybe.

Gonna go smoke a doobie and think this through some more.

It was Mayer Lansky who said that by the end of the century the government would control Drugs, Gambling and Prostitution because "That's where the money is" :)

They already control Gambling, and Pot and Prostitution are going to become legal and be taxed. It's a great government cash cow in places like Colarado

I think its fantastic. Why shouldn't society not reap the benefits of these things instead of only covering the consequences.

I applied to Booze once as well :)

I think in general that these are victimless vices, if I want to spend $10 on a lottery ticket or spend $100 on a woman who is willing to bang me for cash what's the big deal.

I think it has to be tempered though. Its probably not OK if someone is trafficked from Asia or Eastern Europe and forced into the sex trade. This probably happens today so the checks and balances need to be there when legalized.

I'm good with paying taxes as long as I know it's a fair system and some rich ****s aren't accessing loopholes and shoveling away cash offshore just because they are rich.

The thing is that Harper has been blamed for everything on his watch, why should that change again?

So you're for some kind of MP pension reform then? Me too.

Here are the vote counts 2011 and 2015 by party and total and the change.

We see the number of conservative voters decreased by 4% which is a small change. The number of Liberal voters increased by 149% and that was the game changer! Total voting increased by 19%.

It does not bode well for the CPC in the future if their voter turn out is flat in the biggest election in recent history. The question is in four years can the Liberals get out the same numbers?

That's the issue. If you have money you can hide it. That's why I can't understand how Trudeau thinks he can tax the wealthiest 1%. These are the guys that are paying the least tax now and how do you plug all those loopholes.

That Will have everything to do with their performance in the next four years – if it's positive I think you'll see a lot of people who drank the Harper "The Liberals will destroy the country" Kool-Aid (hence flocking to and voting the CPC this time) turning on the CPC and quite possibly voting Liberal again...ESPECIALLY if the CPC replaces Harper with someone not exactly palatable.

Face it, some people slurped up the anti Trudea fear hook, line, and sinker. Just read some of the fire and brimstone comments here and elsewhere... Probably a good percentage of the more reasonable people will have a change of heart if the next four years are good ones.

Well, you need to look at his track record. He has failed at everything in his life, he wasn't even a good camp councilor. What are the chances he is going to be successful at his first attempt at being a Prime Minster. The good Liberal strategists have bailed and he won't get much support from Madison Avenue when he actually has to perform.

Well, I guess he may get in again, look at Wynne. How much more could she **** it up. Only in Canada... people fail upwards.
