Did you exercise today?

Don't you have a wife and kids? Get them to hang on the bar. Great stability exercise.
Oh i have kids alright. And a 6 year old that keeps talking about getting buff (while not eating nearly enough to get there  ).
We've gotten both of them to do some bench pressing
I have a pullup bar (separate) that my son gets to practice on, i put the gym rings on and off he goes

She doesnt really get the benefit of lifting heavy (awesome results, less work/time, more functional strength for life). But luckily we have a close friend who's a crossfitter. She doesnt go often to her gym but its enough to maintain her good shape and she's probably the most in shape person we know in their mid 40s that's not a health nut.
But just the fact that my wife is lifting with dumbells and a bar is a HUGE improvement from last year where she wouldn't have touched any of that. Also thats the gateway into getting said rack ... and a proper bar with rubber plates

My wife refused to use the weights for some reason. So it’s just me.

I bought the plyobox and adjustable kettlebell. Shockingly I haven’t used either and should sell it lol.

Started off with the 5X5 on Jan 3 as follows:

Squat - 94lbs
Bench - 44lbs
OH Press - 44lbs
BB Row - 44lbs
DL - 44lbs

As of today:

Squat - 164lbs
Bench - 134lbs
OH Press - 104lbs
BB Row - 94lbs (elbow pain like a mofo - may be the reason for my previous issue)
DL - 144lbs (20 reps today)

Slow and steady progress...each weight includes 5 sets of 5 reps at the weight indicated (except today's DL as that's to failure).

Also down about 4lbs since start...but that fluctuates day to day so I'll take today's morning weight as a benchmark.

Try a different grip, wider, narrower or reverse, on the BB rows.. if that doesn't help.. try t.bar rows with a close grip handle.. or use dumbbells and keep your hand position neutral.

Drop a loaded bar on the floor... and she'll probably insist you get a rack.

But then you’ll have another thing to fix and you’ll never leave the house for a ride

Especially since ive got metal plates right now
I had those too. Way too loud for my liking so I sold them pretty quick.

Now only use the rubber covered ones and they're super quiet.

One thing I'd love, but don't have the space, is a proper punching bag, and a floor where I could drop weights from heavy lifting. But I think those bumper plates are specifically made for dropping as the rubber coated will break.

Also considering some battle ropes but doubtful I'd use them much.

Yeah i already have a set in mind. 275lbs is all id need truly (sure i'd want to deadlift more than that in theory).... but for 90% of my work i can do that, and worst comes to worst i can do unilateral stuff to increase strength with less weight

I can send you photos of my setup privately if you’d like. I don’t need GTAM to judge my mess. Let me know.

I exercise every day for my job.
I’m a Postie. Depending on the route, average is 20k-26k steps counted every day. Add in the 35 pounds we carry in our bags (that lasts about 30-45 minutes before needing to reload.

Guelph has a ton of hills to climb, and therefor a gazillion stairs. Old route had 170 stories of stairs (for reference, the CN is 145 stories to the main deck).

Weekends I referee ice hockey for the most part, so there’s rarely a day I’m not being active.

Nice lots of cardio, and leg strength.

@Evoex motion to change name to gtaposties

What if it is a paid subscription for pierogi delivery?
I'm listening...

In the meantime, i think i've hit a new weight record... and sadly i'm not talking about what i'm lifting. Clothes havent started to fit too wonky yet... but i guess i should stay away from pierogi delivery

Lots of cardio for sure… Not like jogging or doing aerobics, but a constantly elevated heart rate.
I‘ve always had decently muscled legs from a lifetime of hockey and many years of martial arts, but this job has really toned them a lot...

So if anyone wants to get a job where you’re outside most of the day, working by yourself and cutting out the need for a gym membership,… come to Canada Post… we’ll treat you like a pack mule! Hehehe

Using Thailand to reset my diet. Excited to see results when I return to the streets!
