Did you exercise today?

Got a solid core workout today, also did some weight training. In addition to all the walking around, Oaxaca is surprisingly hot in the winter, being forced to hydrate more than I’m used to.

A friend of a friend is a physio/personal trainer. She said there was a strong correlation between being able to stand from the floor using only one leg and life expectancy. I didn't check her references, but it seems probable. While standing using one leg is not a very necessary skill on its own, it is a test of muscle vs weight, flexibility and balance all of which can help prevent injury and/or immobility (which then lead to lower health and shorter life expectancy).
It’s also a bit of a skill.

When I taught skating, I’d do some balance stuff on and off the ice - I’d say the ability to stand on one foot is more a correlation to athletic training.

Perhaps athleticism connects it to life expectancy.

I did not today, and I will not...

Happy Fat Thursday everyone (to those celebrating). Our house is full of goodies today...

IMPORTANT EDIT: While I'm capable, and willing, to eat all of those 'paczki', I will not...because I'm not an animal.

Happy Fat Thursday @oioioi I know you celebrate for sure.

I love my polish neighbour is all im saying. She just bought her kids a few more motorcycle rides (as 2up obviously)

Got in a solid core workout tonight, I do miss my local gym in Canada though.

So im making it work with zercher squats...im gonna need some elbow sleeves if i wanna go up in weight.
I did like the clean and jerk squat combo, so ill probably add that as a warmup on my non overhead press days with lighter weight

Went back to a dumbell bench (instead of barbell) and ... HOW DO THOSE FEEL SO MUCH HEAVIER. Had to go down 10lbs (5 each side) which, i guess was to be expected. I'll probably get some overhead presses with dumbells going next week...gotta mix it up a little

Didn't yesterday or today.
I had 3 polyps for those in the know.
Procedure went well.

I really need to setup some exercise routine. I'm sore has hell after riding. Time for a nap. :(
That was the reason I started to get in shape, so that I can ride for long distances and not feel like I was run over the next day.
At least you got out riding today. What a glorious day to be out.

Ooof sorry to hear that. I just had a single one removed a few weeks ago.

I didn’t feel a thing a few hours after getting home.

Good healing!

As for working out…😂😂😂😂😂

Something popped in my knee once I hit 5x5 with 210lbs. Must’ve angled the foot wrong.

They feel so much heavier because you’re now having to use those little stabilizer muscles and your dominant arm can’t compensate for the weakling.

How do you get sore after riding a vstrom?

I’m gonna do extra reps in honour of Mr burns today

Just finished my 6th week of run training. Doing a 90 minute slow run on the weekends and 2x 35 minute elevated pace runs on weeknights. If I can stay injury free, in 6 more weeks I'll be up to a 130 minute slow run on weekends and 2x 45 minute elevated pace weeknight runs.

Been so busy with home reno, work and other things that I'm lucky if if I have time to get in 2 more workouts per week.

As for the correlation between exercise and being able to ride long days, I find that I can only do one day of long riding if I'm not in very good shape. If I want to go on a multiday trip of relentless twisty roads and ride 10+hrs each day, then I have to be in good shape, otherwise by day 2 I'm sore and distracted by aches and pains instead of being focused on the road.

Keep exercising and eating properly people:)
