Maybe not so much take away the vote, but give incentive to business savvy people to want to be mayor and show change. Like performance based contract, or something similar. Let people vote on that?

Taxes will go up regardless who's in charge, it's inevitable. The question is, who's going to use the money best?
There's no accountability to our politicians and no repercussions for poorly thought out decisions. If they're direct financial/political future was tied to the success of a project, things would be munch different. Right now, it's 'ho hum, did he save me $50?'

The sunshine list hasn't been adjusted for inflation in over a decade. It's not that people are making more, it's your money isn't going as far.
Nothing stopping you from finding a job that can put you on that list too.

I apply to companies on that list all the time! So far no luck
I find that we all like to complain about those on the sunshine list, but it's only because each one of us wants to be on it.
edit: And to add...of course our taxes will go up. I agree with you though....who will use the tax $ best is the billion dollar question.

Wrong or right, he has yet to be charged of any wrong doing so a lawsuit is just a publicity stunt, smart but still just a dirty publicity stunt, that lawyer should be a counselor.

Oh boy what a waste of his time... no way in hell that "class action" will work.
But... he's giving ideas to other idiots to start suing Crack Ford, perhaps in small claims court.

I've done quite a bit myself and haven't seen anything objectionable. She's been accused of pandering to developers sometimes and the TTC newsstand thing was a ****-up, but she's had a pretty good track record overall and at the TTC. She's made a real effort to understand everyone's position and problems, but she really doesn't seem to take any crap from anyone. Overall I'd take her over the other declared candidates so far.
I mean, what Minnan-Wong, Ford, John Tory? Olivia Chow is a big question mark other than her known left-wing leanings (I don't mind left wing, but I have zero clue what she'd do in power - could easily be full of terrible ideas).
If those are the alternatives, Stinz looks like a damn good candidate to me.
