Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

I don't buy that commonly accepted explanation for Ford's election in 2010. The way I figure, he was just the most outwardly charming of a bunch of really unappealing options.
There probably was a protest vote in reaction to Miller, but that wasn't the bulk of Ford's support IMO.

Given the way that civic politics works he didn't need to do much more than provide a consistent mission statement (one expression, in fact; "stop the gravy train"), and bring out some extra voters. The problem with the "unappealing options" was that they were mostly tied to the downtown or general core areas, while also being seen as spendy liberals.

It was so cold today I saw a Liberal with his hands in his own pockets.

You might want to remind the provincial and federal liberals of this cuz me tinks they've lost their way a teensy weensy wittle bit.......

They all do, eventually. For example it was the Republicans who ended slavery in the US.

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

I stopped posting here because you guys want to talk about politics. I just want to talk about the mayor who smokes crack.

From today's newspaper...
"A Toronto man has filed a complaint against Mayor Rob Ford with the city’s integrity commissioner, alleging improper use of influence and city property. His complaints stem from allegations outlined in a police document released in court and in media reports.
Ray Fredette, 62, filed his formal complaint to the Office of the Integrity Commissioner last week, claiming that Mr. Ford broke the council code of conduct by using city-paid staff and resources for personal benefit, as well as to benefit his own private business."

I'm sure Ford will laugh it off...

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Just for interest's sake, here is the mayoral oath of office:

I Rob Ford, having been elected to the office of Mayor in the City of Toronto do solemnly promise and declare that:

I will truly, faithfully and impartially exercise this office to the best of my knowledge and ability.

I have not received and will not receive any payment or reward, or promise thereof, for the exercise of this office in a biased, corrupt or any improper manner.

I will disclose any pecuniary interest, direct or indirect, in accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.

I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second. And I make this solemn promise and declaration conscientiously believing it to be true and knowing that it is of the same force and effect as if made under oath.

I would say registering your company's ships in Liberia to avoid paying taxes in Canada would count as "free from bondage to authority".

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Did you read Crack Ford's latest news?

He owns “like six” condos in Florida... wow, and he still wants to be a regular guy... with a "regular" discretionary income?

Love him or hate him, he's laughing all the way to the bank, we'll have to give him that.

Man of the (gullible) common people.

What I have found bizarre this week is the aggression Crack Ford and Drug Ford are displaying to the Premier. They didn't get what they want, so Drug is shouting "Grow up!" in reference to the Prem this afternoon.

The reason this amazes me is because I get they don't like each other but there's discussing the issues and there's making it personal. I don't see the Prem even once shouting insults at -anyone-.

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Just bullies. Not appropriate behaviour from an adult, let alone an elected official.
I am happy that they are not cops. (Rules don't apply to me.)

Ford is/was an elected official, Wynne is not.....

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Ford has admitted to a crime. Wynne has not. Whether or not both have committed crimes is up for debate.

Also Wynne told Ford/City Council that as the Deputy Mayor was now effectively heading up city government, sho would deal with the Deputy Mayor. This was prior to the ice storm. Why would that surprise him now?

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Because it's getting under his skin that she has not caved in. He's not used to people saying no to his face and more than once.

Exactly. Pampered bully boy isn't used to throwing a tantrum, then not having mommy give him what he wants.

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

The unelected premiere will only sit down with the unelected mayor. It stinks to high hell. Tell me this is democracy and this is the way government works. Tell me its ok to prorogue parliament to avoid scandals, both provincially and federally. It may be the way the system works, but it still leaves a bad bad taste in the mouths of many.

Norm Kelly is doing a good job? how so? by holding the status quo? the guy ****ed off to florida during a major disaster, yea great leadership there. Wimpy gutted limp dick.
