That's just the official number. The millions to billions a year he benefits from a combination of graft and trading with knowledge of impending policy is where the real money is. Not to mention unlimited use of a private jet for free as long as you have a photo op at the destination.

You have to spend your $$$ to buy or convert to something green (like a heat pump - that a Brookfield subsidiary sells) to get a rebate.

He's reported to be in the 9++ figure bracket and his dog face wife is some kind of mid level Kling-on Limey royalty with bags of cash and tracts of land. He'll be fine regardless. Where did he get the idea Marx was anti-democracy? (MARX was NOT anti democracy, Marx was very PRO democracy. Lenin and Engels less so) (Marx DID say that with a socialist govenment the "people" would see it benefits and eventually over throw the government to install a communist system, but envisioned all the soviets (worker's councils) would democratically elect their leaders).

Here's a news flash for you fear mongers: Communism is a economic system, NOT a political system. The politics you see in Russia and China are authoritarian. There is no political system that is dependent on communism, and communism is not dependent on any one political system.

What the PROBLEM with communism is that for communism to work, the wealth gets redistributed... and all the billionaires lose their money, to us plebs. THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH COMMUNISM. That is what they're are afraid of.
Communism is a win for you and me, a loser for the "elite". YOU and ME have nothing to fear in communism, Elon Musk DOES. Trump doesn't have enough money to be called "elite", Trump is a pawn... over and over and over again: Trump is a pawn.

Marx, Lenin, Engels and Trotsky all had different ideas on how to achieve communism, but they all agreed the only way to reach communism is through a socialist government... it all starts with socialism. And that's the reason the right is so anti socialist ANYTHING.
Socialism works. It has been proven. The most successful countries in the world, that aren't authoritarian, are all socialist: Canada, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, CHINA... and the countries that are authoritarian have some of the worst civic rights: USA, Russia, Iran, Saudi (YES: China is authoritarian, but they are MORE socialist than authoritarian)

The elites ARE NOT looking out for your well being, the socialists ARE. The elites are only looking out for them selves.
YOU are NOT the elite... so stop protecting their money and stop voting in government that pander to the elite.

Since we started trickle down economics the wealth gap has grown faster than ever before, the wealth isn't trickling down, it's flooding UP, and from I've seen of Trump's economics, the flood UP is getting government help (less taxes for the rich, more taxes for the poor, there is no more "middle class"... the middle class got taxed out of existence)
If you don't see the current system is screwing the common man you're an idiot... and there's a bunch of you cheering it on.
The PROBLEM with capitalism is it only works if you have capital, and the current system concentrates capital. If you don't have capital, you live by the graces of those with capital... the 1%... and they're money grubbing ******** that seem to have ZERO concern for you and me. If you have capital: the system works for you, if you don't have capital: you work for the system. The VAST majority doesn't have capital, and NEVER will.
There is a LARGE piece of the western world that views Luigi Mangione as a hero, a modern day Robin Hood if you will. (ya see how long this fight has been going on... goes back further, it's what the Magna Carta was about, signed in 1215AD).
If you vote for Trump and you don't have $100,000,000 USD in the stock market, you're voting against yourself... and you should take a long hard look at WHY you're voting against yourself. You're shooting yourself in the foot... or more like you're shooting yourself in the wallet. (I think when you figure out WHY, it will become obvious you have been lied to and you're drinking the right's propaganda koolaid)

I somewhat agree with everything you’ve said theoretically but in more practical terms, can you name one country that has successfully embraced communism and not had it morph into something not so good for its citizens?

There's an excellent book about Communism that I like to recommend. It's a very short read (in fact, it has only pages for notes inside).

No. No country has got as far as communism, no one has got past socialist.
The countries that identify as communist aren't, they are communist in name only, most aren't even socialist.

Cuba got the closest... but when they nationalized the Chicago mafia lost all their casinos (that they were using to laundry USD) and somehow convinced the US government to embargo Cuba's access to USD... and with USD being the world currency, the US embargo guaranteed the failure of Cuba as a country. Both Obama and Biden's governments tried to ease some of the embargo, for humanitarian reasons... Trump reversed that. They might have made it, but they were stymied by the US at every turn. Fidel wasn't much of a commie (Che was, Raul Castro was more than Fidel), Fidel tried to align with the US at the outset, but JFK would have no part of that. Ya gotta wonder WHY... maybe because the Chicago mob got JFK elected?

... so now that we know that communism doesn't exist and has never existed: Don't you think we have spent WAY too much money fighting, at war, killing millions... against a thing that does not exist. There has been, and probably IS, a large chunk of the population that is willing to go to war and kill people cuz of communism... the thing that ISN'T.
It's like the war on DRUGS... WTF was that all about? The war on drugs was MOSTLY really about the war in Vietnam.

TRUE communism will never work, just like true capitalism won't work. They work in theory, they work on paper, but when you put people into the equation it all goes to hell. Socialism DOES work... and when you add people it all goes to hell.
You can make any political or economic system work on paper... but EVERY time when you add people, it goes to hell.
We are the problem.
