August 23rd... Riders choice at Mosport...

Jamie just stop. You don't know what you are talking about as usual and really don't need G's crashes splashed all over here. Share them privately with your friends if you need.

How the hell this conversation got from a rc td to the race result I will never understand.

Had a buddy ride the td on Thursday. He said the afternoon was a blast.

Regardless of who crashed out and what injuries they sustained, I hope they get well soon and we see them back out on the track again.

GWS, riders!

I'm pretty sure I only got through T5 correctly a handful of times. That corner is confusing. Especially because of the concrete section in it.

If they resurfaced the whole track it would be wicked.

++++++++

I didn't mind that they were running it in 4 sessions at 15 mins. Every time I saw the checkered flag I was torn between being, "Damn it!" and "Thank Gawd, I'm getting tired." ;)

I agree the track sucks as it is right now and with the oil spills they had made it even worse. If they resurfaced the track it would be an awesome track.

Ya, that's not Glenn or Mosport, but still looks quite painful.

Jeepers. It's like any other track out there. You have to learn to ride the individual track. It's intimidating to newer riders I agree (I only did my second day there last Wednesday), but once you've learnt a good line and got used to the unevenness of the track then you're good to go. I've ridden down at Mid Ohio and, when it's cold or wet, is a complete skating rink and a lottery compared to Mosport and they run AMA races there without any issue.

Please feel free to complain about the concrete or the unevenness. But don't say Mosport "sucks". That's one thing it doesn't. It challenges. It requires a higher degree of skill or concentration than any other track I've ridden. And it demands respect. Getting out of shape there usually hurts. But "suck" it doesn't.

And if they were to resurface Mosport, then the majority of us wouldn't be able to afford a track day there ever again. And there'd probably be more serious crashes.

Don't really need anybodys crashes splashed over here do we?

^^^^ This.

Yeah, it was posted on facebook that "the crash pictures are up" so I automatically assumed it was Glenn. My bad :(

THEN DELETE the pics

First off did you mention any of this to the organizers?

It's a reality, mosport has less than a dozen track days for bikes, your going to find a wide variance in speed in most groups just simply because of the amount of bikes out there.
I agree with Jay, At the end it is the responsibility of the faster rider to get through the slower one safely, We need to stop blaming the organizers on everything and take some responsability

We are going to end up ****ing it for all of us when those organizers stop organizing and there are no more track days

I did my first session there and i had no issues with the surface of the track - I spent most of my time on top of the so called patches and you just have to ignore them

it takes preparation, proper suspension, proper tires, proper tire pressure etc which sounds like a lot but should be basics for a track day IMO

Track is awesome.... I can't wait to go back

IMO,

Riding Mosport was great. Yes, there was lot of waiting, crashes (GSR for the riders), the PROS and all, but at the same time, I had a blast. It is a challenging, intense and very fast track, therefore I will be doing it again.

A friend of mine got a few pictures (mostly from green group)... I will post them later...

Any links to pictures? I saw a few nice cameras out there...

Im guessing you are new to Mosport. I frequent that track the most because its the closest and fast/fun.
It is a former F1 track, and I doubt they would run Canadian Superbike there if it sucked. It takes a bit of time to get used to the track.....avg speed 160 km/hr plus after all.

Yellow was pretty much the only place for the faster riders on small bikes. Yes, they're underpowered, but they ran clean, predictable lines, and they had good cornering speed. My problem was with the big bikes that kept slamming on their brakes for the turns. I was forced to pass someone in 10 on the sawdust just to keep from rear-ending them. Those are the guys that should have been in the Green group.

yellow group was all over the place , they let the guys who run the 250cc class into yellow, it is amazing how fast you come up to those things on a liter bike, poor judgement on behalf of the organizers , that may work at a track like Cayuga but Mosport was asking for problems. The organizers obviously were just trying to get as many on the track as possible , if I had known in advance would not have bothered, also noticed in yellow in a session that a csbk guy came out during the session. poor judgement overall based on greed

Yay! I look forward to seeing them. :)

I made a super cheesy vid with our footage from the second session (novice):

No hating please! ;) I've never ridden Mosport before. I found it hard to not keep rolling off the throttle and over brake. It would be nice to get a few more days there to get to know the track and start to feel comfortable.

No first time riding the track and maybe I should rephrase that, I liked the track and the fact that its so close but I guess the way the whole day went just made me dislike it.

Great vid, nice editing, thanks for no music! :)

Sucks you disabled comments though :(

Crashes and oil tend to do that
