Why Android is better than iPhone.

I had an iphone for about 6 months after which I sold it and got a Nexus S. It could be a computer guy thing, but it feels much better compared to the iphone which I eventually found a little boring and limiting at times. Definitely happier with my phone now and I'm not even a phone person (if...

    Cheapest truck/van rental?

Would a CAA membership cover this? Technically the bike is not broken down or anything. Very interested in knowing cause I have a membership and may need to transport a bike (~80km) from a shop in case I get it back just in time for frozen/snowy streets.

'Heartless' man remains out on bail

Horrible. And look at those ****ing **********! I don't have much faith in prison as a correctional facility but this guy should be made to pay for his actions. The only lesson he's being taught right now is that he can get away with all kinds of crap.

    Stupid bicyclists...

[off topic] I got a $30 ticket once cause my headlight's battery had died mid-ride. "You have no light" "Yes, I do! Oh..." Bam! Despite taking every precaution (front and rear lights, reflective strap, checked the lights before I started), I still got dinged with a ticket. The cop couldn't care...

    Stupid bicyclists...

That's pretty funny! I wonder if she was even able to hear her own bell riding next to the truck... Do they think people actually hear that bell most of the time? Or that they can react as you ring your bell and zip past them? Anyway, when I'm not on a motorbike, I'm on a bicycle so I do...

Riders choice oil change gone wrong.

Seems like the OP shot himself in the foot by believing/claiming that the rest of the damage was also caused by the RC mechanic. Even though the damage that was originally reported could have still been caused during the oil change and have nothing to do with the rest of the nicks, no one's...

    Fire arm control

Of course, a potential victim should be offered the right to defend themselves. Unless that right also causes another few hundred people to die each year who would have otherwise went on living their lives. You end up saving the life of one and sacrificing that of another X hundred. If that's...

    Fire arm control

You base this on what experience/evidence? I would imagine that if I have my gun pointed at someone and they pull a gun as well, I'd probably now be fearing for my life and be much more likely to shoot.

    Fire arm control

Students carrying a gun, eh? And if something comes out of it, someone is most likely dead. Again, what's the scenario? An unarmed robbery? What if the guy had a gun? What if he/she had already pointed it to you? You're screwed and at least one person is likely to die. Is pulling a gun on...

    Fire arm control

There's different variations of the law. You can check the table here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concealed_carry_in_the_United_States#Permitting_policies Here's some gun crime stats. This spreadsheet gives firearm murder rates per state (hope the link works)...

    Fire arm control

As far as I can remember that attack was unexpected and quite sudden. Even if the whole bus was packing I don't see how you can react before the guy had stabbed/killed the victim. Now imagine that the guy had a gun instead of a knife. Read any random news article from the US about a mass...

    Fire arm control

I don't think we can compare wearing seatbelts to legalizing guns... Overall, if something's not broken (crime rates being much lower compared to other Western countries with different gun laws), why try to fix it? Especially using a fix that's not at all proven to work. Most of the speculation...

    Selfish bike parking

Absolutely and it's great pic. It does, however, seem that at least 2 people are assuming that the cruiser is at fault in this particular pic and they are not referring to the OP's experience. That's what ticked me off (and I'm not even a cruiser owner). Example:

how long is your commute to work?

5 km for me. It's about 10 min faster to get there on a bicycle, but there'll be plenty of time for that in December.

    Selfish bike parking

People seem to be assuming that it's the cruiser that parked last in this picture and not the ss, but do we actually know that? Not terribly important obviously, but maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions (ranting about the cruiser rider or wondering how he/she got off the bike after parking it).

Battery dead midride. Stuck on lakeshore...

I charged the battery overnight and hooked it up today, but was in for a surprise - still no juice! Turned out it was the fuse (sorry for the misleading topic...). I'm not sure whether I should be happy about it or not. Changing it is simple, but I don't see any obvious reasons for it to blow...
