zx10r or gsxr?

Good choice. Congrats! Pics?

Thank you, i do have some pics. I couldent find a truck so whoever says having a minivan is stupid well at least my bike fit in it no problem. all i used was a ramp on the side door and it backed right in, no clearance issues nothing. Glad i picked the stow n go option so now i can put the seats into the ground and i have a perfect spot to use traps and off i go lol

Gotta use what you have they say.

i got 2 gsxr 750's and a gsxr 1000.
I would only buy the 750 for the street, there is no point to have a 1000c+ bike on the street.
the 750 can still wheelie all day

buy a 600 and quit complaining about gas and insurance.

Nice, I used my brother's Caravan to haul around my bike a couple of times...
I had to remove the screen both times to clear the tail gate, but other than that it's an easy solution for transporting your bike.

side door is 45" should clear without removing anything hehe rear opening is 43" and the front wont fit :p still gotta love the vans multipurpose lol

congrats on the bike dude!

I am surprised to see that a difference of 9HP can make such a difference in experience - According to the internetssss the 750 is 153HP and the 10r is 162 on the crank.

Every one here's a pro rider to know how much difference 9hp makes???

You got the balls? Take the gixxer
You got the money AND the balls? Take the Kawi

The difference isnt 9hp, the 750 is making about 130 to the wheel and the zx10r is making 160 to the wheel...but that being said even 9hp in bikes that virtually weigh the same would be noticeable.

congrats.

lets us know how you like it. enjoy. ;)

Nevermind horsepower, there's a massive difference in torque between the bikes. 25-30 ft-lbs on a 400lbs vehicle is ridiculous. Even if the horsepower were the same, the liter bikes feel (and are) much faster.

Regardless, the 750 is a great bike. I've had one of pretty much everything, and the GSXR750 didn't feel like too much of a compromise. 600s are gutless, but the 750 (to me, at least) leaned closer to a 1k than a 600 in seat-of-the-pants acceleration. Good choice of bike.

agreed!

I'm curious to understand just HOW different a litre bike can be? Can anyone put it into words?
I refuse to believe that it's going to be as big of a jump as moving from a 250 to a 600... or is it?

Sure.

Have you seen the Enterprise on Star Trek go into warp? Where reality stretches and then instantly the stars become a single line blur with an explosion of intense acceleration?

That's a liter bike when you let it eat.

Good reading all the posts and lots of different point of views.

Well i actually decided to get my bike yesterday and decided on a black 08 gsxr 750. I think it looks sexy and it was nice to sit on if that makes any sense, pretty comfortable for a short guy like me.

Congrats! Nice bike!

The titlle is just ....

all my friends who have owned ninja zx10r's had problems...second gear skipped, anothers clutch went every time doing burnouts, another guys forks leaked trying to do nose wheelies.

......

Those are called stoppies or endos. Never nose wheelies...

*sigh

^^^ Dont forget about the guy who rides the clutch for 5 minutes, then wonders why his clutch is gone every time he does a burnout...hey guys look what i can do...LOL.

People who compare just HP numbers are missing the important points. You need to look at torque curves, otherwise, you are talking about differences that occur at redlines. More HP is not always a faster bike. No one can tell 7% difference, especially when that 7% is well within variance of temperatures, elevation and humidity.
Also, just because some company says a bike makes X HP, does not mean its true, and more often than not, those numbers are pure BS.
