Second one I learned was a thousand million and third a billion at some point when I was a child. US & UK were different. Eventually, they agreed on a standard.
Austerity has a shelf life of a year or so. Too much of what we have or want is dependent on next years income being higher. Big business needs more money as well. PP and company are going to have a tough time.
It's OK, he has a magic wand.
I really don’t know what to expect from the population if PP tightens the screws.
When Obama was first elected they interviewed people on the street and one black lady exclaimed “I’m going to get a house “
No lady, the house is a mile away and you’re just one foot closer.
If PP & company get in it will take several terms to start turning things around. By then people will be sick of the restraints and the Liberals will have rebuilt.
The Liberals will get back in and take credit for the uptick in the economy.
People do not understand long term economics.

Expect a lot of civil servants returned to the public workforce.
Imagine, just defunding the CBC will:
- Save taxpayers $1.3 billion a year
- Return 10,000 people to a workforce starving for workers.
- Eliminate gov from competing with an already struggling media.

I don’t blame Trudeau for being a buffoon, I blame Canadians and the PC party, the put him in a position of power.
I don’t think people are necessarily lapping up what he says, he’s just a viable alternative. Right now that’s enough.
One mess to another mess, it's still a mess. And I'm struggling to believe PP's "I can fix everything with my policies", many of which are not realistic, they just sound "easy", and people like easy. If he goes with a lot of these policies there will be a lot of unintended consequences and "I didn't think the leopard would eat MY face!" moments.
I dislike both of them, have said it many times. I think both should be flushed and start over again. The next federal election will be like being forced to choose between which of the 2 sh!t sandwiches you're going to eat after that's all that's offered for lunch.
We'll both have long been worm snacks before that ever happens.

PC policies tend to be simpler to state and understand, they also have a common thread of 'common sense'. While liberals would like to see firm PC policies, is not policy season for the PC's - they are opposition at present, smart to keep their powder dry until election season. .
