Skippy is a petulant liar , which makes him unpalatable. Does his office lie on his behalf? Yes . Does he know it ? He would have to be bigger idiot than I suspect .
Queens funeral , who had the 6,000 dollar a night suite , they were not sure … security knew . It was Skippy . Visit to surf Tofino ? His office says he is in meetings in Ottawa for Truth and reconciliation day, while his plane is in the air . He last vacay? He’s paying for his own accommodation, oh wait , it was compt by a family friend . Aga Khan visit ? Lied.
So it’s all going to come out anyway , so why lie about it ? Buy some time ? Pretend the media and internet are going to track this crap? He needs to go .

The voices in his head aren't the sharpest spoons in the drawer. A tendency to blurt first, D'oh later.

I'm all for transparency, but I also understand that sometimes decisions and deals must be made outside the public eye in order to get them done.

Service Ontario is not a model of efficiency. I loathe visiting my local center -- 30 minute wait times at the opening bell and often the things I need help with are unfamiliar to staff -- for the last 2 years I've been driving to a small store in Keswick (80km round trip) because it's faster and more likely I'll get a resolution than visiting the SO walking distance from my house (sadly the Keswick location appears to be closing, hopefully my local Staples will get a Kiosk).

I'm ok when the gov't does deals that prove to be in the public's best interest, even if they are done without public consultation or tender. We voted them in to manage the province, do our bidding, and trust they will execute to their mandate. We vote them out if they lose that trust.

I expect transparency, whether it’s before or after a deal is done depends on the circumstances.
So the Keswick SO is closing but is reopening with the existing owner as manager of a SO kiosk inside walmart (retrofit bill paid by us). Wtf is douggie doing?

EDIT:
Pic of Oakville Staples SO kiosk. I'm very unconvinced that the design is good.

Typically, the build out of in-store kiosks is paid for by the hosted store/service, not by the host store.

Walmart already has several store-in-stores, as do retailers like Shoppers, Loblaw, Indigo, and Canadian Tire.

That makes sense but going from an existing store to a new one where we pick up the bill for the fit-out is unlikely to have any positive benefit to us.

I don't know how that works, and I don't know how expenses were paid or shared at the existing Service Ontario locations.

Doug has made some unpopular calls, but so far the unpopularity is mostly been related to the process or lack of transparency -- not costs. I can't think of any Lib-like gazillion dollar gas plants, Arrive Safe, WE, CERB... things.

I have a lot of fun with these blanket statements of yours. Movable type and gunpowder, wanna take a guess at who came up with those??
Ah yes, the cherrypicking exercise has begun. Let's just throw away the majority of history for the sake of arguing on the Internet with petty little gotchas.

I really don’t know what to expect from the population if PP tightens the screws.
Screaming from rooftops in most cities and all of BC (except those in SK and AB).
Whining and tantrums from the eastern Ontario Border to the Grand Banks.
Gloating and Singing from the rooftops in the 905, SK, AB.
MB will look confused as they scratch their heads.

No corp. Regular mortgage.
Missed this at first. This is exactly why the banks are so tough for me to deal with. My buildings are owned by a (one of my) corporation. Multiple, multi-million dollar buildings although their worth outranks their mortgage stake by more than 5:1 it doesn't matter. They're right pricks about everything and will - and do - force landlords to maintain a certain profit margin regardless of whether they are able to service the debt or not with whatever means they have available. They also do not consider liquid cash on hand to be a worthy substitute for profit margin month-to-month (hey, you might just spend your float on hookers and blow, then you'd be unable to service the debt!)

The banks are a royal pain , when you hit a certain point they want to see your budget for earning, profit spread , business plan and inventory turns . And audited statements . Lots of audits .

Do you think it could be worse than the sh!t sandwiches we've been choking on for the last 8 years?

Are you familar with the phrase "I didn't think the leopard would eat MY face!"?

Because if PP becomes PM I think there will be a lot of unhappy people out there who voted for them suddenly unhappy about the results.

Again, they're both ****. If the NDP got a new leader that had a hope of polling more than low single percentage points they would have a hope in the next election based on many others who feel the same way. As much as Singh seems like a nice guy and all, he's not that person.

When the time comes, change will be hard. Nobody loves austerity, but remember fewer like it when an economy collapses.

Canada is now one of the most indented 1st world country on the planet, there isn’t much left on the credit card.

There Is no path to victory for the NDP. They do need a leader, then they a marketable platform, then the need 150 or do candidates who can wi then go on to run a government. I’ll bet Venture monthly payment the NDP cant maintain party status next election.

I really can't imagine ANYONE being a worse prime Minister then Trudeau has become, (maybe Hitler or Mussolini, but no one in recent history or current year.)

You talking about this G7 debt to GDP 2023 | Statista where Canada has the lowest debt per gdp?
I don’t feel like writing out an economics lesson tonight. Go figure out how Canadas provincial debt counts, and how the Feds count CPP as an asset.

Then compare debt to GDP and see where we stand.

I think he’s a total tit, but what has he actually done that has irreparably damaged Canada? I don’t trust PP as he’s from a mould that comes from the most cynical right wing politics south of our border. As much as Trudeau is an Instagram whore, I’ll take that over a populist right wing cynical knob any day.

Sure no problem…so you’re saying internationally recognized statistics are horse crap because it doesn’t fit your narrative?

Edit: we were supposed to have a recession in 2023 but an unusually robust economy staved that off…wonder where that came from.
