The clip I saw wasn't 100% clear but we in Canada have the right to travel. If some jerk violates that by blocking you they can be arrested. I have no love for Freeland but she has the same rights even if she doesn't deserve them. I don't know what the psuedo reporter wanted to ask her but it would be a waste of time. Liberals don't answer questions. They only spew rhetoric.
So if Joe Average is blocked by some jerk who wants Joe to touch or brush against him to provoke a fight what are Joe's options?
Stand there for an hour or two?
Push by and become the aggressor?
Call 911 and a unit shows up a day later and doesn't press charges. If charges are pressed the crown doesn't proceed due to backlog.
The "reporter" didn't block her or anyone else.. Sure, he may have been pestering her.. but at no time did he attempt to block her.
Being pestered by someone she doesn't want to talk to.. is part of her job.
When I watched the video again.. noticing the behaviour of the woman walking with Freeland.. It becomes even more obvious, then it already was, that the cop set it up on purpose.
Just because Joe Average makes the first physical contact.. doesn't mean they are the aggressor in the situation. Actually blocking someone.. or preventing them from going about their way... could be considered forcible confinement. A serious action and offence.. that someone would have the right to defend themselves against.
Depending on the community they are policing , the RCMP have a terrible rep in the last two decades . Closing in on Hamilton Police , which have now eclipsed Niagara as the worst . Which is something in itself .

Self defense. The cop that was shot was known to be violent. They interviewed said cop's younger brother on an story about him on W5. Asked the brother what he'd do if his older brother knocked on his door. ''I'd jump out the window........and I live on the third floor.''

I know, but the issue is the department let it get to that point. When cops are so scared of other cops that they shoot them, it seems like we are 100 steps past the point where the violent cop should have been terminated with cause as they were not suitable for the job they were supposed to do.
Ottawa spent $11.3 billion in interest payments during 2023's third quarter, compared to $8.3 billion the same quarter in 2022.

Just finished listening to a Liberal supporter saying that the economy is booming, we have more services now than ever and federal debt doesn't matter. This is why it doesn't even matter if Pierre is who he says he is, the people in the big seats right now are idiots and bold-faced liars and their supporters don't care.
Of course he has . Because his opinion carries so much weight…..
My take on this Freeland ‘incident’ , that reporter should NERVER been able to get that mic into her space and face , her security team should all be retrained . Who knows what’s in that goof balls hand ? Taylor swift doesn’t have these issues getting into a restaurant.

I somewhat agree. If someone's security requires a buffer, police know how to do that and should do that. There were a more than a dozen RCMP and YRP milling around, and clear safe vehicle path to the front door of the building Freeland was visiting (see all the cop cars parked there?). Freeland's handlers would have decided she take a 100+m stroll to her destination, Taylor Swift's security team would have driven her to the entrance.
The more I watch the video, the more choreographed it appears. Look at the actions of Freelands Aid - she's eyeing the security detail, just before the RCMP guy picks the reporter she darts out of the way.
If this was a legit security threat or a dangerous incident, I would expect at least one right media to come to the RCMP's defence. Nope.

If you've read anything by ezra levant (I could only stomach one book) you'd probably be ok with him or anything he's connected to being blocked. He's a real effing twit.
I would tend to remove the RCMP accreditation rather than that of the Rebel News after that incident. The big knock against Rebel is that they tend to get too involved with their stories, to the point of raising funds for or becoming participants. Should a news cameraman take pictures of a kid drowning or stop taking pictures and save the kid? It's an ethical dilemma.
