Why Millions Buy Harley-Davidson Motorcycles

curious how long that maintains if they revamp their entire lineup to a more modern image. i suspect some of the long time models will stay mostly the same to placate the masses, but it has to be coming...
I think if there is any grumbling it will be short lived. People have short memories. I like the direction HD is going even though I like the "classic" HD's as well. There once was a time when the automobile was considered a "fad", so anything is possible.

I think they will maintain a group that functions similarly (and they will mostly look down their noses at the new bikes). The new bikes will bring in a lot more buyers that are shopping the market and like what HD has to offer in comparison to their competition (and especially in Murica, they get to brag that they have a HD).

Not surprised some people here find the Harley dealerships giving them the cold shoulder. It's probably because they don't think you have the right stuff to own one. Not a bike for "other" people. Harley people only.

I’m sure that is all in jest, but for entertainments sake what would you say is “the right stuff” Marky Mark?

You need to have a profitable dental practice and also own a closet full of pirate gear that you don every weekend so you can cosplay "Sons of Orthodontology" with the other dentists.

F9/Ryan offer good production values and smart analysis - I read he has a degree in history and physics so he's giving the bikes much more thought than your average dudebro yootoober. I would believe all that math/analytics is from Ryan.

But that's also their downfall. They go against the standard model of raving up every bike, likely irritate the manufacturer who in turn decline giving them models to review. Doesn't matter if you understand their video formula is usually: criticisms -> praises -> balanced final thoughts. Impatient viewers make it halfway and see only contrarian complaints.

Also spending years taking shots at big marketing doesn't help either, as entertaining as it is to us:

I dunno if it's GOOD or BAD, but I used to own a Road King, so I guess I gots the right stuff.

I bought the bike from a very good friend of mine, when she decided a Road King was too big a bike for a 75 year old woman, that might weigh 100lbs soaking wet, with her pockets full of nickles
Did she have the right stuff?
If you knew Elf, you would know there is no discussion that she had the RIGHT STUFF... what ever that is. I wouldn't fight her.
I miss her everyday. Now I'm sad.

She bought a Gold Wing... it had a reverse gear.

Maybe millions of people buy Harleys because the bikes are pretty good at what they were designed for: eating highway. There are few bikes that I have found that can eat super slab like a Road King.

Harley's marketing irks thinking people the same way Apple marketing irks thinking people.

Have you tried a face to face with the dealership?

According to Roadghost, this is the face of the dealership. Pass.

"millions buy Harleys" ??? ...

116 years in business,
5 millionth sold in 2019.
Champagne for everyone at Harley-Davidson’s HQ as MoCo hits a historic milestone: their 5 millionth motorcycle that rolled off the assembly line was sold through a dealership in Wisconsin
rounding error on the industry,
Maybe millions buy Tshirts....the bikes ....not so much. 🥴
