Why Android is better than iPhone.

iPhone was a total paradigm shift. You only need to glance at the current smartphone market to know where it all started. Sit down, son.

Just as BB was a shift in phone tech before the iphone came along.

Now it seems the shift is on again.... Samsung is just shellacking the competition with the new Galaxy S3

"Samsung, the world's largest technology company by revenue" earning record profits.

They must be doing something right.

Apple is the most profitable company in the world, son. Have a seat over there ----->

Apple's quarterly net profits $8.8B from just selling consumer electronics...

That's double Samsung's profits for the same period

Have a seat, son.

maybe they might put the headphone jack below now too.

And from a pic above(S3)....a lot of people was puzzled to know why they moved the back button to the right side of the phone?

look at that luxury phone below, can't wait to have one of those. What luxury leather case will i buy.

Theres entire repos on cydia filled with apps that are described "Android like ..." UI modifications. That shows apple UI lacks many features and people really want them..

Think Apple’s iconic iPhone design was born deep within the catacombs of Apple’s Cupertino campus? Think again.

Apple’s original iPhone actually came from an idea for a Sony smartphone.

“In February 2006, before the claimed iPhone design was conceived, Apple executive Tony Fadell circulated a news article to Steve Jobs, Jonathan Ive and others. In the article, a Sony designer discussed Sony designs for portable electronic devices that lacked buttons and other ‘excessive ornamentation,’ fit in the hand, were ‘square with a screen’ and had ‘corners [which] have been rounded out,’”

aahahahhahahahaha yeah baby nice smartphone

And then this happened:

Apple founder Steve Jobs' admiration for Sony isn't a secret and the court filing appears to show that as part of the design process for the first iPhone, Apple asked one of its designers to answer the question: "What would Sony do?"

"Apple has admitted in internal documents that its strength is not in developing new technologies first, but in successfully commercializing them.
The Sony-inspired iPhone came about after an Apple executive circulated around an interview with a Sony designer in 2006. That's when an Apple designer was instructed to put together the prototype"

Apple innovation. .... "What would Sony do?"

Apple 2006 : Lets make a smart phone. What would Sony do?

Apple 2012 : Lets make a smaller iPad. What would Google do?

Apple 2016 : Lets make a phonebased 5.3+ inch large screen smartphone. What would Samsung do?

Apple innovation.

unlike mmmnaked, you actually bring substance to a debate, good on you. mmmnaked reminds me of the kid that loses all the time and all he can say is , oh ya, oh ya, well, well oh ya , well we'll see, I'm telling my brother. The problem I have with the adapter is, ipads are so over priced for a tablet that has just basic hardware, then you have to pay for everything else, they should incorporate usb, micro usb, hdmi in to the ipad. I use my usb all the time. I watch moviegs from it, I use it for work documents, I store all my downloaded apps to my 500GB hard drive. The hdmi I use sometimes, not real often, but I like that it.s there if I want it. If you really compare apple to samsung, you can't ignore that sumsung is always coming up with better technology, and android is by far better then ios, but like everything in life, it's all just preference. My biggest complaint with apple always has been, they over price their devices and convince people that it's all right for them to tell you what you can use on it. I've played with the ipad, and if you hold my acer and the ipad, you can feel the quality difference, the acer is so much more solid.

I'm good with one connecter port(less messy, luxury look), that an adapter can solve my issues if needed, in which I never need.

My MacBook Air doesn't have a cd drive, and I absolutely never missed it.

Still don't miss it.

Plus I had an external from back in the day, just in case(maybe once a year).

LOL Acer feels more quality than an ipad... now we know for SURE that the old man is on drugs

My laptop doesn't have a cd drive, but i do have an external which i rarely use, but I use my USB on my tablet all the time. I don't get the luxury look though, I don't think the iPad has the luxury look. To me it looks cheap, even flimsy.

Some of you have to stop acting like iPhone was the first smartphone out there. Sure it was the first smart phone dumbed down enough for everyone to play angry birds on but windows mobile, symbian and palm(?) has applications and could do quite a lot way back in the day. They were't "luxurious" enough for mmmnaked but apple didn't make that big of a jump in the technical department. Eye candy was their what their biggest contribution.

Buddy, I had a bunch of them, they were all garbage.

Off the top of my head, I know I'm forgetting one or two:
Nokia 3650 and it's cousin with a normal keyboard
Palm Treo 600 (worst product ever, would restart if getting a call while using data)
Blackberry 7100
Sony Ericsson P900

There were also the PDA's tethered to a bluetooth phone, since the smartphones were terrible

HP iPaq
Nokia N800

You really had to use a first gen iPhone after using all of the above garbage (even the N800 which I kinda like) to realize just how good it was. Just think, finally a mobile browser that could show a large web page without taking an hour or crashing (most of the time, both). The browser worked, the touch screen worked perfectly, you could use it perfectly with one hand, it just plain worked. It really was a beautiful thing. Before the iPhone, I used to switch phones non stop trying to find the next best thing. Once I got the iPhone (which was my very first Apple product btw) I haven't had a want for anything else.
