Why Android is better than iPhone.

For an old guy like u, u're in-sync with technology. Most guys your age still carry this

lmfao that was my first phone. I embrace technology, most people my age won't. Technology can make life so much easier.

Wow, i just setup a bettertouchtool gesture, for iTunes... to allow me to use 2 finger swipe, right or left to previous track or next track....and 3 finger tap to play/pause.

i heard they just managed to let Windows users, use the Apple Trackpad with a gesture software to control it...hopefully BTT can make it there too.

was thinking of grabbing a motorola xoom today....any thoughts on why i shouldn't?
No NFC though!!!!

2 reasons:
wanna play around with android 4.1.
wife told me yesterday, she needs a digital photo frame, so i was thinking 10' should be cool.

Nexus 7 > Xoom
Nexus 7 more powerful and all that jazz + comes stock with Jelly Bean and since its a Nexus device, it will probably get more support moving forward

i get the picture frame and what not...

Upcoming iphone is gonna hulk-smash the competition as always.

People comparing S3 to 4S  shoulda waited!

Yah, that innovative new 19pin connector is really gonna lambaste the competition! :lmao:

All the other technologies being introduced on iPhone5....NFC, larger screen, LTE, etc etc. have already been introduced.

Welcome to 2010-11, Apple.

You go Apple, you Go!

What can I say...... BGR has been reporting some fine articles lately.....

More evidence that Samsung smart phone sales steamrolled Apple in Q2
http://www.bgr.com/2012/07/27/samsung-smartphone-market-share-q2-2012/

"Samsung shipped 50.2 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2012, nearly double the 26 million iPhones shipped by Apple (AAPL) over the same period."

Retina displays??? Bah, so last year..........

http://www.bgr.com/2012/07/27/samsung-oled-displays-350-ppi-retina/

"Samsung has begun producing next-generation OLED display panels that tout a staggering pixel density of 350 ppi."

Apple...... "70s technology"

:laughing3:

ROFL

Samsung makes about 25 different smartphones yet they only sold twice as many units as Apple's sole iPhone??

iOwned.

The way these tech companies are going, they are going to patent everything in sight.

I hate this patent BS as much as the next guy. At the end of the day though, it's hard to argue that the iPhone and iPad didn't reinvent the smartphone and tablet spaces. It's not a coincidence that every smartphone and tablet looks and functions similarly to Apple's

You can use that argument for every invention possible. Don't all computers function and look the same, cars, televisions, ect. The real fact is Samsung is making smartphone technology better. Why hasn't apple added USB,micro SD ect available to the iPad, other issues with apple is the control crap. Android allows me to install any android app I want, not just the ones they think I should be allowed, that's like Ford ,GM, ect. telling me what I can carry in my vehicle.

Computers, cars, tv's, etc. have for the most part evolved as a collection of innovations, and you can bet your *** they pay fees to use other companies' patents.

To really understand how revolutionary the iPhone was, you had to use smartphones before the iPhone came out. I had a whack of them, hell I had unlimited data on my plan over ten years ago. They were all buggy, slow, an absolute pain in the *** to use for the common tasks we take for granted now (except maybe Blackberry and e-mail). Using smartphone features without the stylus? Forget about it. The iPhone really was a paradigm shift.

You'd have to be blind not to see the design cues Samsung has borrowed from Apple. They even borrowed the charger design (http://media.idownloadblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Samsung-Charger.png)

Same thing for the iPad. As has been said many times, the iPad is a big iPhone. Seems to have been a good ideas as people are buying a crap load of tablets now, where it was an empty market before. Sure you could buy a bulky tablet that ran Windows and was basically a touch screen laptop, but no one did. Before the iPad, there really was nothing in that space.

"Why hasn't apple added USB,micro SD ect available to the iPad"

What tablet's have USB? Maybe something like the Transformer Prime, but nothing mainstream. MicroSD? Meh, don't care, don't need it. Google seems to feel the same way as I don't think any of the Nexus products have it.

"Android allows me to install any android app I want, not just the ones they think I should be allowed"

This can be flipped around, the app's available for iOS are for the most part guaranteed not to have virus's, and do not do anything bad to the operation of the phone like slow it down or drain the battery. If you really want to install anything, jailbreak the phone, the Cydia market has lots of apps available that let you do stuff Apple doesn't want you to do. The problem is that a lot of those apps (even the good ones) will drain the battery, slow down the phone, or just plain crash for no reason. All my iOS devices are jailbroken but I don't do much of anything through it, my phone runs much better as a result.

Doesn't the flash memory, DRAM memory and applications processor come from Samsung?

It's no secret that Apple is one of Samsung's biggest component customers. Samsung like many Korean companies is super diversified, I saw a Hyosung ATM at a store once. Wouldn't surprise me if the Samsung component manufacturing was almost a completely different entity from Samsung phones. Apple does not manufacture anything themselves, it's all contracted out.

My iconia has a full size USB, I can plug a USB stick and work off it, I can plug my 500 gb hard drive and work off it. I shouldn't have to jailbreak my device I buy, and void my warranty, I have the right to install any app I want, after all I paid for it. Samsung for some stupid reason didn't have micro SD on the nexus phones, but do on the Galaxy phones. I have never got a virus on any of my android devices and I have installed hundreds of apps.

Weird how the flagship phone which is built to google specs doesn't have this supposedly crucial feature

Probably because Apple and Google both realize that functionality is all about the cloud and wireless communications. MicroSD and USB sticks? Wheres my floppy drive.....
