What did you do to your track/race bike today

no, group of cars on then a group of bike then cars then bikes then .....

but they aren't running green yellow red groups

dripping fluids all over the track and knocking on grass and.dirt

Replaced the wheel bearings on the rear rim.

Cleaned up the rear caliper.

Replaced the old clutch cable with a new properly lubed Motion Pro clutch cable. Cleaned up thoroughly around the front sprocket area.

Replaced the crotch area pro grip protector with a leftover piece of TechSpec snakeskin.

Put on my last year's Q2 tires and removed the slicks.

Got my forks back from Ryan Gill @ Condor Racing, and installed them.

Ground off the ends of the stock pegs, and raised them an inch.

To do: remove some of the brake fluid, I think I've overfilled the reservoir last time I bled the brakes. Rebuild the steering damper. Put the fairings on and rockaway.

Also bought one of those 4x8 harbor freight trailers. Put it together, now trying to source bearings seals as I destroyed the originals when I opened the hubs to pack with good quality grease. Also a friend will teach me how to weld, so I'll weld the frame together (right now held just by bolts with nylon lock nuts). 3/4 plywood to go on top. I'll also design and make a swing down tailgate, I don't want to carry around a ramp anymore. Trailer is a bigger project for me, so will be using the old trailer until I'm done with the new one. I'll try to sell my old trailer for $200 after that.

Pretty sure I've missed something. Over and out

Will there be EMS there? What time does it start? Who would I have to befriend to get invited?

On the '08 GSXR750 ( new to me)
Speigler lines on the front (feel spongy must bleed more)
Oil change - motul7100
Pazzo folding levers
Pitbull front and rear stands = awesome
And so sturdy

To do -
Must do a full rad flush and put in the water wetter.
Put on GPA scrubs compliments of Carboncat
And find new pegs or completely new rearsets I HATE the stock pegs.

Will be ready for July4th! And hopefully 3-4 track days after that.

You've got to complement these great lines with a big Brembo or Accossato master, and racing pads ;)

As a temporary measure, you can do what I did---grind off the lips from the stock pegs. IMO, huge improvement in terms of grip, also give a bit more ground clearance (assuming you fully tuck in your foot).

See ya at the track bud

Proper suspension for my fat ass first!
Maybe next year.

Who puts an angled slippery tip on the end of a peg?!? A rough grind is a great idea, ill try it!

Need good brakes too for that fat *** of yours ;) lol

I really hope you're joking. I rode my friend's Gixxer 750 last month and the OEM brakes are phenomenal. Her bike is completely stock, and I was very impressed with the whole bike.

really, I have a 2010 GSXR 750 with stock brakes and they suck compared to my previous 2008 zx6r. I guess perception changes according to each persons point of reference.

The stock master is prone to fading, apparently it can be pretty hit or miss but it's mostly a miss. My 07 was pretty bad, I'd bleed it at lunch but it didn't fix it %100 so I sold the bike because it was holding me back from winning my track days.

Hmm... Maybe my perception is a bit skewed coming off the sv onto her gixxer, but they were really good. I only did 7 laps before I started sliding around on the Q2's and came off, so maybe I didn't ride long enough to have them fade.

lol'd at the end.

Just pulling his leg, of course :) I'm not knowledgeable enough to be taken seriously about something like that. My experience goes just as far as to say with certainty that my 03 gsxr 1000 couldn't stop my much fatter *** with the stock brakes. Spiegler lines, accossato cylinder and race pads completely solved the problem. EDIT: also race fluid.

Yep, my stock configuration was fading after just a couple of laps.

Depending on the fluid you were using, that could have been your issue. I used a standard DOT 4 and I had to bleed between sessions, racing DOT 4 I could get 1/2 the day but a master would have fixed the issue and got me under 1:20 for sure :)

Generally speaking, stuff that is designed to be bolted together is best left bolted together. Stuff that is welded together is best welded together.

That is always assuming that your Harbor Freight trailer was ever "designed" in the first place.

Never really suffered massive fade on my stock 08 gsxr brakes. It was more a lack of feel when braking that made me switch to an aftermarket master.
