We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

I think its easier and cheaper (lawyers bills) to make sure they are dead, then you done pay years of compenstation for the guy you crippled . Ive never been , or hope to, in that situation , but I think somebody would be dead.

I still want the full story, I'm not buying these guys didnt know something about the other.

Just watched the news article on project coyote , the massive drug and gang project wrapping up yesterday.
A large popular motorcycle gang had “ printed” handguns . Apparently the 3D printers using a carbon fiber thread makes excellent , untraceable, semi automatic handguns . May not last beyond 10 rounds , but usually that’s enough?

Liberal proposal should be along shortly to ban 3D printers , and the internet since thats where you download the files .

So what’s on your shopping list?

Anyone played with a GSG 15? Was thinking of picking one up just for fun plinking but have heard both good and bad.

A friend has one. It’s definitely a fun plinker. His jams constantly now and there isn’t much online to help figure out why. I’ve helped him go through it a couple times and the issue persists. It’s not a gun worth paying someone to really dig into IMO.

picky on ammo and needs lubrication and the chamber cleaning. Use decent quality HV .22 and it should be fine.

CCI mini mags are pretty reliable,

That’s what I’m gathering from other reviews as well. Use hi-vel ammo only.

There are quite a few guns that just need HV or heavy loads to cycle properly, it’s a big thing in auto load shotguns . Shooting trap or skeet with a target load in gas powered guns doesn’t produce a cycle

The run-in procedure for mine was to shoot magnum loads for the first little while. After that it’s smooth with anything.

Some are better than others but most recommend doing this for the first 100 or so rounds. I'm still considering grabbing a Canuck Operator Elite and they recommend doing this as well.
How's your usual gun shop for flexibility on prices? Do they deal or not? I didn't want to drive almost 2hrs each way to Cabela's for a gun my local dealer was selling for $120 more and asked if they'd get a bit closer to that price and they just said their prices are firm.

My local store is SFRC and they are fantastic. I usually buy when they have a sale on though so things are well priced anyway. They have extended a sale price for me once when I was a day late and there’s always time for lots of advice in store and they know me so it feels a bit different. One guy spent nearly an hour helping me with getting set up for reloading once.

I’ve bought from a wide range of places though, like G4C, Tenda, Bullseye etc including one time from a small Alberta store that didn’t charge me pst which seemed odd but was a pleasant surprise. I usually decide what I want then wait until I see a deal on that and then buy. The hardest issue is finding a deal on good optics as aside from “bushnell days” prices don’t move much from MAP.

The Reddit forum (described previously) or Red Flag Deals (stickied off topic forum for firearms deals) had a post where someone suggested Cabelas would price match. If I find it I’ll post it up.

Edit: for RFD the forum is in Ongoing Deals Discussion stickied at the top.

Some sales on a GSG15 here Offers

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it (again friend’s gun not mine). Next time I see it I’ll look into it. Gut is saying more likely the ejector is bent between the two.

If you take it apart do it inside a bag. There’s a small spring that likes to escape. You can replace it with the spring from a pen apparently but that’s only after it’s driven you nuts wondering why things don’t work properly anymore.

Has he cleaned his magazines too? Is it jamming with a live round or a spent case?

Thanks for the tips.

He bought a new mag but that didn’t fix the issue.

I don’t recall for sure but I think it was jamming with a live round

At my place in North me and the neighbours plink in the back yard. Nobody complains, they mostly come by to see what everyone brings to the party.

My sons GF is probably the best, she packs a Glock 19 and plinks beer cans at 15m like the Rifleman.

If it’s jamming with a live round then make sure the mag is properly seated. My GSG 16 needs a good slap. After that check to make sure the issue is with all mags and not just one. I have a few rogue mags for other guns that just don’t behave. First thing would probably be making sure the feed ramp doesn’t have any crud on it and giving it a good going over with a bronze brush and some cleaning solvent. It might also need polishing.

Might want to be careful, pretty sure you can't even transport a handgun anywhere other then to and from a certified range/gunsmith, yet alone shoot one anywhere other then those two places.

one annoying drive past nieghbour and everyone looses thier guns/ Rpal/ and the fines are not insignificant. And you dont get that Rpal back ever.

you are correct.
unless she lives there or it's a range/on the way she would not an ATT each time.
also 100% illegal to shoot restricteds anywhere but at a range unless you have a specialized ATC.

all firearms charges are criminal charges AFAIK as well, so not just a small fine with possible jail time.
