We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Anyone into tactical shotguns?
Looking at pumps (Winchester SXP, Mossburg 500/590, Benelli Supernova).
And semis (Beretta 1301, Benelli M2, Mossburg 940).
Any opinions between them?

I have a Beretta 1301 comp. Wanted the longer barrel over the tactical so it would at least be somewhat useful for clays etc. It’s an amazing shotgun. Whenever a friend tries it they want one. It will cycle as fast as you can pull the trigger, it’s one of the fastest cycling shotguns in the world. Expensive fun is firing 6 slugs as fast as you can at a target.

This is one of the reasons I was thinking of staying away from Beretta/Benelli is the expensive barrels. A simple pump gun like the SXP and I can just grab a longer barrel for cheap and use it for clays or whatever if I wanted later on.

I figured I’d only buy one shotgun and so buy once cry once. Even though this isn’t anywhere near what you can spend on a shotgun, it’s in the higher end of it’s class. It’s just super smooth and very well made. No regrets with this one.

It’s sold out everywhere and the shop owner I spoke with said it’s a long wait for one. So that might nix that option anyways.

are tactical shotguns on the list of no beanu with the new govt regs coming?

If you start shooting a lot of clays and your using a semi or pump be prepared for a lot of maintenence , it a lot of ammo in a short period.
Also test semis for cycling with target rounds , many guns will not cycle properly with 1oz and even 1 1/8 target loads . depends on where your shooting by many clay clubs dont like high power rounds and some even limit pellet size, since your just killing a clay target.

One of the reasons you see a lot of clay shooters with O/U and single barrels , they still work fine after 20,000 rounds . And its easy to see if there is a shell in it.

This guy was so excited to show off his new gun to his friends at the club he forgot to get his registration in order beforehand. :D
My daughter lives in the building where this dufus was arrested. The clubs in that area get big money gangstas flaunting guns and pretty Russian escorts in the $1000/bottle clubs.

Regrettably Omar will get a lifetime ban on owning firearms and be back at the club in 3 weeks , with a glock.

If he had his RPAL his life would have been ruined. Lucky he didn't bother with it. Slap on the wrist and away he goes.

Another stupid legal decision brought about by poor laws. Because a paintball is equivalent to a rifle in the eyes of the law, a four year jail term for shooting a rifle into a house is cruel and unusual because some kid may get the same sentence for using a paintball gun. wtf. Remove paintball gun from firearms, don't wrist slap for firing a rifle through a house.

in which he swung a baseball bat and shot at a car with a rifle, smashed the window of a vehicle and fired rounds into a family home.

In allowing Hills’s appeal today, the Supreme Court says the mandatory minimum sentence was grossly disproportionate, given that a young person might fire a paintball gun at a house as part of a game.

This is good right?

I can go get my license now...
My guess is this has been postponed until they sort the mess out. Looks like it’s going to be postponed for a while though. One of the issues was the SKS as it’s used by indigenous peoples for hunting as it’s a cheap rifle with relatively cheap surplus ammo available.

No it's not. He's a child throwing a temper tantrum in a china shop. You know lots is going to get broken but not which specific things. Those amendments should never have seen light. Withdrawing them just shows how out of touch they are. He will come back with something equally but differently stupid and out of touch.

Good and Bad, good they are gone , for now. Bad they ever made it to paper and the time and actual money that had to be spent by gun associations and lobby groups to put an end to this is obscene and silly .
Mendicino going on a winetr speaking tour to clarify his position , spending thousands to promote a Bill that had no business being introduced.

Icing on cake moment ? bowing to pressure from indiginous hunters . chiefs and territorial leaders. Well thank you for being their for the rest of us , indiginous leaders , F you Mendicino and your ilk for letting this drag on for months. Collective morons.

Handgun freeze still in effect though which is just silly.

I suspect banning handguns will be analogous to banning pot.

  • Demand stays consistent.
  • Users and enthusiasts go underground.
  • Criminals increase their role and profits in the supply chain

Niegbour two doors down is with Toronto Police service and is actually assigned to the handgun smuggling and investigation team. When a gun is recovered they do the investigation to determine where it came from. They also work to stem the flow from the US.
His professional take on this handgun bill and the long gun ban is nothing will change, illegal guns coming from the US are already illegal , you wont get extra punishment if caught. The people buying them have an agenda not a hobby. This ban will do zero , as per enforcement officers and is political theater .

I don't know about that. Only a tiny percent of legal handgun owners will risk jail time for an extra gun or to make some cash.
If you mean already illegal guns, yes that will continue but the ban doesn't affect those anyways.

There is always the possibility that he did not know what’s in the truck .
Were I to be a smuggler, the weak link would be the guy talking with border security, I would use trucks that had no idea they were being ‘used’
