Same online nothing left except weird ****.My local gun store has sold nearly every single handgun it had. It’s down to surplus eastern block/Chinese guns only now.

None of it is surprising.
The stock prices of gun makers (and sales of guns) were on the rise when it looked like Hillary was going to win in 2016. Shortly after Trump was in office sales dropped and so did the stock prices (some ended up in trouble actually). It seems counter to logic but it really isn't, for many why buy today when I can buy tomorrow, oh I can't tomorrow, better buy today...maybe two or three or...
Businesses can own firearms but need a separate license for each location. Can you franchise "JC Goes Bang"? I'm not selling guns, I'm selling franchised businesses that own guns. Chief Stupid seems to be targeting personally owned handguns.Up until this freeze comes into effect my handguns (and some rifles) are actually steadily appreciating assets. I didn’t get them as investments (good job really as in a month or two they will probably drop like crypto).

Correct for now. Since chief stupid seems to pull dumb ideas out of his ass, who knows what next year will bring. Probably an announcement about buying them back at fair market value using public funds, it will only cost tens of billions and he has allocated $100 per handgun in funding. Dont you feel safer already? Are you able to keep existing handguns if you have them under a restricted license? Or will owners need to give them up?
IIRC it’s the sale and trade of restricted guns that is affected.
Sure do. Buy them back for $100 and sell them on the black market for $500. PROFIT.Correct for now. Since chief stupid seems to pull dumb ideas out of his ass, who knows what next year will bring. So you decide your done with handguns , but you happen to own one that was previously owned by John Wayne . What’s fair market value ? 250k ? Who decides this buy back nonsense ? Gun controls , yes please . Longer security checks and tougher testing , ok . Outright bans ? So stupid

That's the big problem with chief stupids plans. He talk about buybacks at fair market value but then tells how much money is allocated and how many firearms are out there. He must assume that all firearms are Soviet surplus that have been rusting in a ditch. Like everything else, JT has no bleeping idea even the order of magnitude of what things cost.I have a Turkish handgun that is worth $500. That’s my least expensive (oh aside from a .22 revolver) and I wouldn’t accept less than that on a buyback.
An air rifle that you need a permit for is a pretty niche product these days in Canada. Plenty just buy a crossbow instead, about the same amount of utility with less government involvement in your life.So has anybody had anything to do yet with this new generation of air rifle available ? I saw an ad in a UK magazine where they are producing a 50cal capable of knocking down a bison. Not sure if you have to pump it 64,000 times or how it works , but its apparently becoming a deer hunting tool in the UK.
If they prohibit handgun ownership, handguns will go underground... more underground than they already are. When only folks that are grandfathered in have access to guns , you’ll make the Olympic squad , like a British ski jumper or a Jamaican bobsled team.
Problem will be all the good clubs closed down and the pistol range is now compound scoped sling shots .

I bought a GAMO Varmint for my kid, he hunts grouse, pheasant, and hares with it. Also good for plinking. An air rifle that you need a permit for is a pretty niche product these days in Canada.
