A cynic would want to know if the P.M. and parties in the know, had invested in or shorted any handgun companies before making the announcement.

He's gotten caught often enough. His "blind trust" probably decided to invest in gun stocks with no input at all from him. /s

In all seriousness, like motorcycles, our market is so small, I doubt Canadian sales or announcements will affect the stock price.
 
It’s amazing the blip on the radar and the following sales . Canada is indeed a small market , however the US sales increased with the Canadian govt announce . No idea how that works . Or why they care .

Once these laws get in place they are hard to get rid of .

Not a gun owner, and still debating getting my PAL/RPAL but this is ridiculous. Another 'look look we're doing something' announcement.

Just make crime illegal and take care of the problem. /s

JT is addressing gun crime using his normal approach to solving problems. Make up and sensationalize a few things for the sake of optics. Rant about them. Order and burn another dumpster of cash by throw it at those made-up things.

In the end, there will be the usual zero results.

Maybe I'm optimistic but that is why I have some faith this ban won't go through.
The data and articles are so easy to write to make this ban look like a complete waste of time and money.
Almost negligible % of handguns used in gun violence are sold in Canada.
I can almost guarantee there has been no reduction in violent crimes or gun homicides since Trudeaus OIC ban 2 years ago.
NS mass shooter inquiry has shown that not only were the guns illegal, police was told about them multiple times.

The last ban was an OIC and skipped proper democratic process. This one is going through as a Bill and will be debated in the house, meaning there will be time for all of this to come up and hopefully get shot down.

But. I have been disappointed before and the average voter is dumber than a bot on reddit. All you need are misleading news headlines to sway public opinion. No one reads, does research or have 'common' sense.

sorry rant over. I'm also just mad I have no disposable funds to buy more handguns just in case.
does someone want to buy an AR15 from me? (it will have to stay in my possession, registered in my name, and you can't shoot it but you can claim it is yours like an NFT).

Now he has JS sucking at his teat. In effect, he has a majority. There may be some opportunity for discussion but I don't expect positive fundamental changes (maybe JS will pile in and add more restrictions to complete the circle jerk).
 
One of they guys we should Skeet with is in deep love with something called western shooting , 6 guns , levered rifles and coach guns ( very short shotgun) . This will kill that sport within 3-5 yrs .
It’s just a bunch of guys having fun and the odd part . The 4 guys I know that do it , all police . And they will be allowed to own and buy MORE handguns . From the sources that can sell to professionals that need guns ( there are actually special stores for cops )
What a gong show this one is going to be .

I signed up for both the restricted and non restricted courses (back to back - same weekend) at guns.to ..they still had bookings available for Oct and Nov at the Weston Rd location.
Not sure how soon this 'freeze' will go into effect....

I heard fall. They do take a long time off in the summer though so who knows when they get around to "protecting" us.

I may sign up also. I've got some $500 'lifestyle fund' and seems silly to waste it on an apple watch.

It counts toward anything (motorcycle lessons, off road, hiking clothes, swimming, AND gun lessons!).
