victim of Road Rage, hit and run by a coworker, how should I handle this?

I am quite content with how I am handling the situation.

I have spoken with HR. I have to hammer out specifics and they will investigate. This individual works in another department. I have/had no work contact with him whatsoever. The contact I do have is the **** he says and that is the company issue at hand. Prior to incident #1 I never talk to the guy. After that incident, he may have said things to me in the lunch room. Incident #2 he stormed into the area I worked and ranted on about the green light and also threatened to run me off the road. Incident #3 happened in the locker room where he ranted on to me about who knows what, again he threatened to run me off the road. Aside from these rants I never talk to the guy. Whatever happens, I will no longer have to hear his **** again. The company will be obliged to cease and desist his rants. Mission accomplished.

As for the damage he did to my bike I have no recourse or witnesses so it's a mute point involving the police for that. However, I may call the police to make a report on the threats made and what he did so they can keep a watch out for him. Also this report will serve as a direction if some a hole from where I work decides to run me off the road while on my bike.

In the end this guy will have negative attention from the police, the employer, and the fire department will think twice about his continued service. What goes around comes around.

Tommorow back on the bike. :p

You certainly do have recourse. You have his license plate information. And you could report it to insurance company. They would be really interested to know why they need to CANCEL HIS ***..

Meaningless without conviction.

What an insane story. I am just wondering what options you are considering other than contacting the cops?

Lol OP is such a pussy. Call the cops idiot, they clearly made the perfect situation to screw you over. All he has to do is say you hit the back of his car with your bike and ran away. Cops look at your bike, and then look at his car, guess what? You get nailed for hit and run, and insurance rapes you. Your company's HR department will get involved but its beyond their power to resolve it the way it should. (Lol Human Resource Management is my major). Seriously just call the damn cops.

I realize logic is not everyones strong suit. As no cops showed up and no phone calls demonstrates there was no collision report made. Also he left the scene. Why would anyone report a accident they left the scene of? If he did this, you think my insurance company would roll over on this? The real issue is his harassment and threats. As per HR request I have constructed a statement letter that ends in a way stating the police will be called to follow up if they can't contain the situation. If I did call the police the police would have to go into my place of work and begin questioning people. The company will realize that fact once they read my statement letter. I doubt the company will want that to happen and will do everything they can to contain the situation from becoming embarrasing for them.

I think everyone should leave this thread........no one can help a stupid

and besides,,,,,it going to go OVER 10 pages ! ! ! GTAM POWER ! ! !

I can't wait to see what happens to him after he gets homeboy fired. That's when the real *** kickings will begin.

Ever think that YOU (OP, not you Keith!) are the problem? This is so gay. What advice were you looking for? Did you want everyone to meet you at Timmies and do these guys for you?

If some guy was actively making death threats against me, the last thing I would worry about was whether he would fail his next performance evaluation with HR. Follow Rob's advice.

On the other hand, a silly pushing match exaggerated on the internet for God knows what reason (at best, you have made yourself a laughingstock) could backfire badly. Without evidence to substantiate your serious accusations and two witnesses against you, HR may decide to "fix" the problem--by firing you. One wrongful dismissal suit is cheaper to fight than two and your vindictive colleagues may attempt to sue for their own reasons.

you work for the fire department?

Someone has to do the laundry and make the sandwiches, wearing proper work attire (French in origin)

P.S. I'd tell the OP to call the popo, but there's a slight off-chance that he(?) may or may not listen :D

Also he left the scene. Why would anyone report a accident they left the scene of? If he did this, you think my insurance company would roll over on this?

Guess what buddy, in Ontario if you rear end a car, YOU are at fault AUTOMATICALLY. Theres no proof/report of him reversing, so Cops won't believe that he reversed into you, he can just say that you hit his rear bumper and ran away. All he has to do is report the accident as a hit and run, and give them your plate and you are SCREWED. The police officer will look at you and ask why you didnt call 911 if someone actually reversed their car, tried to kill you, and ran away leaving damage on your bike. Unlike you, he has a witness to back him up. You slamming into the back of his car is what the damage on both vehicles will show.

"The real issue is his harassment and threats."
No, the real issue is someone assaulting you with a deadly weapon/attempting murder/hit and run. Tell me this, what would be "the real issue" here:
A) I threaten to punch you in the face and call you a pussy
OR
B) I actually punch you in the face. (and judging by the way you handle these kinda situations, I'd prove you're a pussy at the same time:lmao:)

"...will do everything they can to contain the situation from becoming embarrasing for them"
Just like you should to everything you can to contain the situation from biting you in the ***. (read: criminal charges and loosing your job)

... The real issue is his harassment and threats. ...

Ohhhhhhh, THAT'S the issue here? Okay, well yeah I guess HR will have to play a role. I thought the issue was him trying to kill you while on your bike... y'know, being a motorcycle forum and all...

I think I would've handled this differently (unless perhaps the guy had like 50lbs of muscle on me, then I'd handle it like you did) :p Carry on.
