My all time favourite has been:

COVID19 is fake it's just like the flu……

but it was also developed in a Chinese lab …presumably as “crap flu”. So why bother?

It is all a scam, of course it is the first time in history that the entire world is in on the scam, China, Russia, Iran, G7, G20, everyone....

Now that is hardcore "deep state" ****!

‘Murica……

“She had worked for 6 1/2 years at the medical-surgical in-patient unit at Houston Methodist's hospital in the suburb of Baytown.

Bridges said Tuesday was also her first day at her new job at a company that sends nurses into people's homes.”

WTF?

Going to be interesting going forward to see what washes out on the courts decision.

As stated in the article that this is only the first kick

In the USA these sorts of things are legally on solid ground - an employer can perfectly legally require vaccinations.

In a healthcare setting where you should not only not want to get sick yourself, but also protect others whom you are working around (in an already challenging environment, so far as pathogens) I have zero issues with this, and honestly, it should be the same here. You can't choose to get into the healthcare field and then only believe science to a certain point, but stop believing in it beyond the point at which point your "feelings" or "some guy on Facebook" makes you believe otherwise.

Well, you have to seperate hard science from medicine. Because while many scream "follow the science", medicine is far too cluttered with personal opinion and vested commercial interests to reach the level of impartiality to be lumped in with science.

Even in the context of COVID vaccines, mRNA research has been focused the last 30 years to under 50 researchers who all cross own all the patents. It's in their vested interest to profit from their technology. There is a 2018 article in Science often quoted as to the "game changer" mRNA is and how it's "perfectly safe". Yet all the authors of that piece own the critical patents that make mRNA therapeutics work.

If you can't seperate the financial interests of the researchers from their research, in hard science streams, it gets labelled junk science and thrown in the trash. In medicine it's part and parcel.

Every researcher calls their research a “game changer” and nearly every researcher (these days anyway) has access to a technology transfer office that will slap a patent on just about anything of any substance. There’s no difference with this.

Where this differs is that the mRNA vaccines actually work and are profitable which isn’t the case with every bit of research.

The research landscape these days is such that you have to self promote your work with hyperbole or it gets lost among the chaff and you miss out on grants etc. So….skip the “game changer” statements from the researchers and see what other scientists think of the research.

Until COVID, the over 3 dozen mRNA therapeutics in trials since the turn of the millenia have never passed trials, or turned a profit. Getting a EUA, through a poorly done and fraudulent study and being one of the only options is what made them profitable.

So congratulations?

Do they work? Are they profitable?

The goal of the vaccine for covid19 has never been to eliminate the virus. Minimizing the number of deaths and keeping hospitals from becoming overwhelmed has been the priorities from the beginning. The vaccines have done just that. It's not like building a better widget.

And here we set still wearing masks and following arrows around. Still not able to travel freely.

Yeah this sure resembles more like a project when you step back and look.

So has nicotine. Smokers are hospitalized at a rate of 10% compared to their prevalence on society. Which has been known since last summer. Which makes sense as nicotine has been known for decades to regulate one's immune response. And the severe outcomes of COVID are a result of the over reaction of the immune system not the virus itself.

If everyone started to smoke or wore a patch, we'd cut down hospitalizations by 90%.

Does this mean we should do as France did and issue nicotine patches to frontline staff?

Just because something appears to work, doesn't make it a good choice let alone an ideal one.

The topic is vaccines.

With the increase in vaccination rates lately, it looks like quite a few work places are now preparing to have employees/contractors return to office workspaces this September - depending on whether or not schools open up and transition back to in-class sessions instead of remote learning (as many parents were concerned about day care).

Some employers have also hinted towards the use of rapid self test kits which gives you the result within 15-20 minutes upon it being performed:

^ Yes - this involves jabbing it up your nose every morning lol.

I am curious to see whether those have have taken two doses will still have to wear masks for 8.5 hours when on premises.
Also curious to see whether they will ban/prevent/fire employees who have not taken any vaccines (and do not intend to) from coming onsite.

Why should those people who were diligent enough to take both doses of vaccines still have to go through the inconvenience of wearing masks and self test (if needed) when going about their day to day life?

When I’m on site in most mines, they have a saliva kit that they use for testing, they get results back in a few hrs
