Also, what's with the "waving" at 5:47?

I suppose but its like buying a no brand monitor vs a brand name monitor. Which one has better warranty and reliability and/or userbase? The BlackVue comes with a nice software to view the video which has your speed/location on a map/other information.

If anyones interested in doing a groupbuy for the BlackVue PM me, i'm going to ask the seller. if not i'll just buy it at the advertised price on ebay.

P.S Just a note, the DX one records at 15fps.

i looked up that guys address, omg, i drive past his house practically 2-3 times a week...that little turd is 10 mins from me...maybe i should stop by from time to time, and if he's outside, roll down window and point my DSLR and snap a few pics, and when he approaches, just drive off...lol...look me up in the obits' if i don't comment on here after a while...

I would go bust that guys car proper with a tire iron.

See my post above - if you look online at certain forums, not only can you go bust that guys car, but also his sister's...

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand predictably, this escalated just as I had suspected (and as GayManLoveIsOK suggested): http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/a...ard-camera-and-youtube-not-what-it-seems?bn=1 . The Toronto Star reports that internet denizens have now published not only the would-be-scammer's address, but also that of his sister...

As the old saying goes, "Mess with a bull, you get the horns".

Haha, I love how this turd is backpedalling now that his name and address are exposed. Ya reap what ya sow, sucker. Now someone bust up something instead of just talking about it.

I can't make out the vehicles in front of that car but, given that all other traffic appears to be moving, it would seem to me that the driver in front stopped dead, hoping that the car following would hit him. When that didn't work he either dropped it into neutral, or put it into reverse, in order to cause a collision.

My opinion only, of course.

That makes no sense, IMO. If you want someone to rear-end you and if you are actually putting thoughts into it, then it would be really obvious to imagine that the most effective approach is to jam on the breaks as hard as possible during a following-too-close situation.

I bet you can ALWAYS make rear-endings happen.

I think what is happening here is that the Acura guy hits the camera guy 100% unknowingly, and then he is trying to be a ****ing smart *** ******, thinking he will pull off a few bucks out of the incident, without realizing that it is his damn own ****ing fault.

He is clearly above&beyond stupid since he is still trying to call the cops even after the understanding of the camera. Again IMO, the reason he is doing this is because he has no ****ing clue that he was the one rolling back.

And I don't understand all the people on this thread, approaching to the situation as in 'let's burn his house down'........
Do you have someone violating your rights or scamming you on a regular basis or something and now this is the punch back ? When is it enough ? Don't you think that maybe he learnt his lesson after having his face on and off a few forums ?

edit: he is on the news now too

A few points, whetaus:

- If he were to slam on the brakes suddenly, it would be very obvious to passing traffic and more than likely attract witnesses.
- By using slow traffic as an opportunity, it is much less conspicuous if noticeable at all.
- By rolling back, he has that excuse of "oh, I was just in neutral" to fall back on. Pretty hard to explain randomly slamming on your brakes.

- Despite coming to a rather quick stop, at no point in the video are his brake lights (tail or center) illuminated.
- When he pulls his car over to the side shoulder and stops, his brake lights do not illuminate.
- Both the above points would suggest that he has disabled the rear lights on his car.

- We do have people scamming us on a regular basis. When one person is scammed in Ontario, everyone pays for it.
- The man has absolutely no respect for the lives he affects with his scams, and deserves no more respect in return.
- As a result of this massive online retaliation, it has brought to light the severity of the issue to the general public and might make future scammers think twice. Look how many people want dash cams now!
- Apparently he is now under investigation at Scotiabank. Had this not been posted, it would have unlikely reached this far.

It is possible to hunt tail-gaters without making it seem obvious, I believe. In worst case scenario, you can blame the imaginary raccoon that you didn't want to run over.

Just realized the no brake-lights situation.... I understand that part now.

About scams: there is a well-known and documented scam going on at a much bigger scale - fake accidents or fake sessions at physiotherapists. And yet, the Acura guy gets stoned to death while all the people are quiet to these multi million $$ scams that affects everyone indeed.

Just as a side note, the camera guy said to The Star:
- He says he believes now that Yogarajah may have accidentally put the car in neutral, and not intentionally reversed, though he still maintains Yogarajah asked for money. “I really don’t want to screw him, or anything.”

I think that is a reason enough to take a step back, and think about the other possibility here. Especially when there are huge other scams going on that we all are quiet about......

Much like these scammers... If the opportunity strikes, might as well go with it! For once, someone had clear video evidence of the scam occurring. This made it very easy to spread with social media. Long articles about medical scams aren't as entertaining, unfortunately.

With regards to this point, the victim added this update to his YouTube video after The Star article went up:

I knew Toronto Star will take sides! Thanks! I kept on repeating his 3 braking lights are all off and you still think that it is an accident! I have the recording of this ******* extorting me for $500.

"Yogarajah, 26, works at a bank during the week and as a telecommunications sales rep on the weekends, helping support his extended family. He says he saved up for three years to buy his car and wouldn't think of damaging it for $500." What would that related to scamming?

Kate, I have 3 part time job and also working at a bank during the weekends and I am still studying. Work and school for 7 days in a week. Does that means students can scam?

KATE ALLEN, please be professional!

It would seem they took a lot of what he said out of context.

This very likely could have escalated into that type of scam if it weren't for the video.

How does someone get 26 traffic violations in four years and keep driving?!?

Holy **** !!!
It is a ****ing scam ! can't believe this....
I guess we can burn his car down =)

Yea, I was thinking about that one too. It has to be parking tickets and stuff combined too. Makes no sense otherwise.

Or maybe just a typo.

One of the things that Yogarajah has been linked to, by the various 'internet detectives', is a physiotherapy clinic.

But, like I said in a previous post, people need to step back from this before they get themselves into serious trouble.

Fender bender scam

ooops =D
