I have zero love for shinola. Interesting story but not a good enough story to open my wallet and the watches are sure as hell nothing special.Edox Sky Diver Neptunian (depends on your like of the sunbursty dial, I think)
Bulova Oceanographer Devil Diver
Shinola Duck (spendy for a quartz, diver 'inspired', but very orange!)
Orient M-Force or Mako (not a Seiko!)
Seiko Samurai (I know it's a Seiko, but I love these enough to not be able to resist. Still waiting for my King Samurai thanks to eBay's mule-based shipping system)

I love Squale

My Dad did underwater salvage work for the military in the early 1950s and kept dive gear in our basement, so I’ve been fascinated with diving from a very early age. When I started diving, computers took up huge rooms and used punch cards and large magnetic tape reels. A dive watch was an essential piece of equipment. it also identified you as a member of a fraternity. You could spot a diver across the room by the watch they wore, because no one else was inclined to wear such a bulky tool on their wrist. Times have changedWhen Heuer and crew were making tach race car watches , they had a use . But it was 1960 . Now it’s just cool .
I collect dive watches , I do dive , but I have this fancy dive comp gizmo that makes my dive watch sort of redundant. I wear it in the water for nostalgia.
It’s style . Much like wearing a smart watch won’t make you smart .

I don't like that Bulova round case. Get the Doxa.
Yes. Classic and simple is my preference.Considering the Doxa Sub 300 has a very similar turtle/cushion case design, I assume you mean the Sub 200?
Tudor has some really nice watches these days. If I didn't have a Sub I'd be grabbing a blue one ASAP. I like the Pelagos, except for all the writing on the dial and the overly complex clasp. I like the BB58 except for the smallish size.I’ve been on a dive computer for 2 decades , and they just keep getting better . But I still wear a watch . It’s a belt and suspenders thing .
I’m looking seriously at a surface air pump with a 50ft hose , it would do 90% of what I need in Ontario
I’ve worn a Tudor submariner for years , it’s almost iconic , I’d like a Rolex sub, I just don’t want ( can’t ) part with 15k ( or more)

I say go for it. Mine cost far less than that (well below half) and is now worth far more. A Rolex watch is the only commodity on earth that you can be sure will always appreciate in value. And it can always be instantly turned into cash, no matter where on earth you may be. Plus, in the mean time you get to enjoy it every day!I’d like a Rolex sub, I just don’t want ( can’t ) part with 15k ( or more)
