The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Hey Tim.

We haven't decided on a time yet but prob be earlier in the morning so there is better selection on sizing of hear for her.

Not expecting this show to be amazing, just a nice way to kill an hour or two.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Too salty still... plus I need to do a test ride with the new swing-arm still. Hopefully we get the rain they're calling for tomorrow and they don't salt the roads for Friday. Then the weekend will be sweet.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

yeah, i hear ya, not a fan of the salt either, but I couldn't resist this mornign. sunday should be good if we get the rain tomorrow

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I still haven't changed the spark plugs and synchronised the throttle bodies yet this winter... slacker. haha... I was supposed to make a steering damper mount too.

The gods have answered. Thread title is changed now.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Woo! Very nice.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've checked in here!
I've got a crapload of parts picked up/ordered/waiting to be picked up, but I think I'll be in for a ride on sunday!

On a side note, I need to get my carbs synced, valves checked....all that good stuff. Where's a good place to take the bike to?

Re: The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I just have to do an oil change and throw in my new air filter.

Other than that, I can't really help you out on a place. I have only been to Honda once and Apex once, so I haven't had much interaction with shops around town.

Re: The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I got in my first ride of the year today! So awesome.

Still a few bugs to work out - think I need to sync the carbs, the tires are new and were a little slick, and I can tell my SS lines have a little air in them - but man it felt great.

We can probably sync the carbs (I've got Steve's mercury tubes right now), but for valves I don't know. I can't trust any shop anymore... but should probably have the valves done before the carb sync.

So for Sunday, where should we go? Long ride, short ride, pose ride?

Re: The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I should flush my brake fluid too...any suggestions on fluid??

I've never done a carb sync before, but if you're up for it just name the beer! :eek:ccasion5:
I'm trying to get the chain/sprockets done soon....my current chain is beyond stretched and is rusty as ****!
As for a ride, it'll be a short one for me....but I still wouldn't mind meeting up somewhere!

I did this last year on my Kat. I just bought the fluid from Crappy Tire and did it in my driveway. Drained the old fluid into an old windshield washer container and that was it. Surprisingly simple.

Just make sure it is the right DOT (Dot 4 I believe for our bikes)

If your going to sync them might i suggest you perform a full clean on them. The CV carbs on the kats are notirious for being dirty. I can like you to a document that will take you through the entire process for the KAT.
