The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hey guys, the forecast for this weekend is starting to show that Sunday will be quite a bit nicer than Saturday. Would Sunday be better for everybody? I would have more time on Sunday than Saturday, plus if I don't have to wear my crazy rain gear windbreaker action I'll be a lot more comfortable on the bike. I've got some really nice ideas for a route.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Sunday would probably work better for me as it might be easier to get a sitter.
Are you thinking a longer ride?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I'm working all weekend so you boys have fun!

Can ride, poker tonight...

BTW Katatonic brought up the idea of a regular poker game after the season wraps up. I play in a regular Wed and Sun game which you're all welcome to join.

Every other Wednesday night in Waterloo $5 buy in with unlimited re-buys @$5 till 10PM.

Every Sunday in Cambridge $10 buy in with unlimited re-buys before the 2nd blind level.

Or we could start one just ourselves. I don't mind hosting if you don't mind my wife playing

Would love to get in on this for the Wednesday night game and I really don't care where it is! lol! I'll wait until I put the bike away for the winter, but I'll be in touch.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I should be able to make Sunday warmer is better.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I managed to get out yesterday for about an hour and with an extra shirt and long comfy pants under my leathers I was almost getting too warm. I'm hoping Sunday will be like that. I just spent half an hour on Google Maps and found a road up near Grand Valley that looks like it would be good to hit on the way home.

Yep. Head over through Forks and up to River Road (just north of Shellburne) and back home. Something like 3 hours I think.

*EDIT*

I just mapped it and saved it. This is what Google thinks, 312 km, 7 hours 22 mins. hahaha... It won't be 7 hours.

Did you tell google we were doing it on scooters? lol

What time should we be heading out? I have to try to pre-plan a sitter.

I think we should leave around 12:30. By then it hopefully will be somewhat warm. We can meet at the Waterloo Tim Horton's.

Fairing Repaint

How you doing the fairings? I'm in the middle of repainting the fairings on my track bike - using Duplicolor rattle cans. Most of the fairings are done, but I think I'm going to paint on the numbers by hand instead of doing the vinyl cutouts etc. Did some Bondo work - it's not professional level, but it's a giant leap forward in how the bike was from when I got it. Still have to strip down the tank and go from scratch on it. Trying to find some "SprayMax 2K Clear" rattle cans -- it's a 2 part clear coat in a can that won't run if fuel spills....

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Will anyone be around on Monday?
I'm trying to get a few people together for a ride up to the Blue Mountains area for lunch. Weather looks good and I'm not working!
Any takers?

I've got to be somewhere at 3:30.... Any chance we could leave a little earlier? (Or I could just break-off early to head back)

I'm okay with leaving earlier. We could also make the meeting point somewhere else, like the Tim Horton's at Woodlawn and Imperial Rd in Guelph. How about we met there at 11:45, leave at 12:00 sharp? I can also look at my map and see if I can reduce it a bit.

Yea- perfect! That should work out nicely.

I will be there cutting it close to 12.
I will try to be as early as possible but will be close.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Okay jeff, we'll make sure we wait for you. Keep the wheelies down and you'll get there faster ;)

So who all is coming? Meeting in Guelph, leaving at 12:00!

Which Tims is it exactly? I googled it but it seems there are 2 right near each other.

It may be faster but not as fun :D

My buddy might be coming as well but I won't know till probably tomorrow because he is afraid of the cold lol.
