The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

It was a good, but chilly day to be out. Too bad you missed it...

Jer, where were you? We waited until 1:00. Hopefully everything's okay.
Tim, did you get out for a ride?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Thanks for leading dave!

It was good ride guys!!

No prob on the lead! If we get another nice weekend day we should head up to Blue Mountain or something longer like that.

So the MX bars are pretty sweet! I wasn't totally comfortable on the bike yesterday because of my layers of gear limiting motion a bit, but the new upright position is great. I was surprised that it didn't feel totally weird. It almost felt natural, like it had always been that way. It's also not quite the wheelie machine that I'd expected, which is also good. Second gear is still somewhat controllable ;)

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Sorry i missed the ride yesterday. It was too cold for me! I need gloves without holes and a balaclava for next season!

On a related note what products does everyone recomend for fuel stabilization. I hear good things abiut Staybil.

Hiya.. sorry I missed the ride -- hockey game went longer than expected... oh well...
Dave - I made it out for a ride yesterday. Went for about an hour or so. So is it just me, or do tires really wear faster when running at lower psi and on cold pavement? Was running 32.5 psi (cold) - did the University ramps once at a good clip and noodled around the Bridgeport ramps a couple times. Noticed much heavier wear on the edges of the tires than what was there before I went out.

I just use the Motomaster stuff from Canadian Tire. It's only for 5 or 6 months, it seems to work.

Maybe cold tearing? I haven't really noticed that with street tires. I was running 32 front and 34 rear yesterday and the tires were actually generating and holding a bit of heat. They didn't look any worse for wear. wah wah. Terrible, I know. haha

ya got a decent ride in, went to Elora bombed around the back roads, stopped in town and walked around a bit.

Dying to try the badlands/forks in the credit? hear so much about it!

Where is badlands? Personally I don't care much for Forks of the Credit, especially this time of year with the potential for lots of wet leaves. It's a nice spot, but too much traffic and heat. There usually isn't much chance to wick it up. I'm not against it though. I can certainly create an entertaining route to get there.

I'm not a big fan of Forks either, Its more a scenery spot then hard riding.
I loved River road when I went there in Terra Nova.
But I would definitely be down for a big ride before the end of the season.

Think the badlands are in the Caledon area from what I hear?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Huh, okay. Well I just mapped out a pretty cool route to Terra Cotta, Forks, Mono Centre, Dufferin 17, River Rd. etc... We could do that. It's a good couple of hours.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Dave, thanks for leading yesterday....was a good ride! Sorry for cutting out a little early, but we were a few seconds from my house and I really had to pee again!! :D
If you guys do the longer trip out to the badlands and up to River Rd let me know...I'd be in for that!

Oh ya, and since thursday looks like it's going to rain, any interest in moving the regular ride night to tomorrow or wednesday?

Hey Guys.
The badlands are located on Old Base Line Rd. Just a little south of the forks. The road runs between Hwy 10 and Winston Churchhill.

Really? What's special about Old Base Line Rd. ? Looks straight to me. Drag strip?
