The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Now you know what I felt like at the track... stupid body fat... :snorting:

LOL just means you need a bigger engine.

I'm ok with being the relative slow one. When I'm ready I'll upgrade. :happy3:

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

We're not trying to break any speed records anyway. Just ride your pace.

Today is going so slowly... I just wanna go home and fix my bike!

Not trying to push you to go faster at all.... it's absolutely fantastic you know what you're comfortable with and stick to it.

As for bigger engines... mmmmmm..... would love to take my 1125r to the track, but it's my daily rider and don't want to risk it.
At the school we had CBR125's (just 11% of my Buell) and 12.5 rwhp (8.8% of Buell). Thank God I've got something that's capable of hauling my carcass around with minimal stress.. hehehe...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

the joys of working shift work, can't make this one.

On a side note, I got a hold of that guy with the GSX-R, and if all things go according to plan, it should be my garage this sunday, and time to prep it for the track :)

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

That's awesome Nick! Make sure you spin the wheels to see if they're round, and look all over the engine for oil/coolant leaks.

Tim, I think I saw you trying to Flintstone pedal the CBR to go faster ;)

Oh I know. No worries. Mostly I just like riding in general rather than being the fastest or doing the hardest corners. My next bike will be a naked standard.. like a Monster, Street Triple, or Gladius.

...and you think that will make you behave calmly? ;) My next bike will be a 929 turned into a "naked standard". I also expect that to tame my nature.

Probably not. But I'll have more years under my belt by then. :D

Now THAT IS something that has calmed me down on the street, years.

It certainly felt like it... I know the one time we passed you along the wall I was doing the old "whip the reins" on the handlebars... unfortunately, the CBR125 ignored my desperate plea and kept plodding along....

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Yeah, I'll still be the slow one. :)

Don't worry Panda, I like being at the back of the group so I will stick with ya.

Doesn't matter to me who leads or where we go. Should be a nice night for a ride.

It was a loose wire under the tail, got it fixed. See you guys at 6:30!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Good ride!!

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Good ride!!

Ya, good stuff.

My plan to hang at the back didn't work. But it was cool to look in the mirror and see everyone in formation.

Very good turnout tonight! I think we might need to move the ride time to meet at 6:00 and definitely be riding by 6:30. Getting dark earlier and earlier.

So, I really hate my sv on the street, to the point that I avoid riding most days. I think I'm going to start shopping for a 929 now...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

It was nice and cool on the ride back home. I wanted to stay out longer but couldn't.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Dave - what's wrong with the SV on the street? There's another track ready SV for sale on Kijiji right now... if he still has it in the winter I may decide to have a closer peekaboo at it.. give me some time to save up a bit!

Panda - how long you guys stick around after I left?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Without making major setup changes to my SV when going from track to street it's just way too harsh. I would need to change the fork springs and shock spring to make it actually comfortable for upright street riding and street pace cornering. Plus the fact that seat isn't great for longer rides and the bars are too low... It's a lot of fun and handles well on the track though, so I have no plans to get rid of it, and I would recommend an SV to anyone getting into track riding.
