The Official Election Thread

I was surprised. It put me right on the PCs.
Problem is, I am in line with what PC "say" not what they "do".
I've been around long enough to not believe anything they say. They lost me last election or maybe earlier. I'm not happy about taxes. I'm not happy about the bailouts during the financial crisis. I'm not happy about the rising police stat. I'm not happy that after 5 years of a majority, we're still saddled with a behemoth bureaucracy of parasites sucking us dry at every turn.
A frickin majority! They could have made this country a fiscal conservatives wet dream with a snap of the finger and they failed.

Because, as I've learnt over the years, the difference between "liberal" and "conservative" is what they want to spend all of my money on.

Rob, you're falling for the distortions of language driven by conservative circles. It's not your money if it's been collected as taxes. It's federal money that will only benefit you insofar as it benefits the country overall. And it's certainly not ALL of your money!

eljay, there are no more PCs, they are just the Cs.

It's certainly my money until they take it from me and while it isn't all, at this point more goes to the government than goes to me. I understand that taxation is required to support The State. I just want to know that they're at least trying to get value out of it.

We may be thinking of different "C" words here.

That should send the spin departments for every party scuttling off to spread more manure.

Interesting survey. It put me between Liberal and PC. But there are many individual issues/questions where my views are NDP or Green :-)

My views may be somewhat conservative but I ain't happy with what the current government has been doing, either, and they need to go.

I'm not seeing any alternative right now.
The other two will just take more of my money faster, and waste it.
Green would be an option, but voting for them would allow one of the other two to "win".

Best idea might be to start getting on my MP's case after the election.

Edit: the vote compass survey looks somewhat biased,
based upon the questions used, and where they've put the different parties.

As hard as it is for me, a long time RED tory to admit, but if I have to choose between the current three, Mr. Mulclair will get my vote.

I looked into some liberal MP ridings (especially in Hamilton), and I am convinced the libs will do nothing for us!!

As corny as it sounds, but it's time for some change folks.

Why are you listing Conservative candidates only? how about that liberal jewel from Alberta that was telling people off on Social Media? BTW, the cup thing was in 2012....What a coincidence THAT was brought up....

Once again, party bias at play...they have you folks brainwashed real nice.

Spot the teachers on this thread lol

I only can comment on what comes across my radar. I'm sure that liberal candidate darwined their political career much like the conservative candidate prank calling people. As for the peeing in a cup being from 2012, it shows a lack of integrity in a position of trust by a grown man when no one is watching him, do you think his performance is going to be better in a position of power?

Liberal pederast or Conservative mole?

Both child pron and peeing in the mug are disgusting acts in their own ways, and these 2 guys need to be shunned from society.

However, my question remains: the guy who pee'ed on the coffee mug did it in the past, and then he became a conservative candidate for the 2015 elections. Why would anyone choose him as a candidate? Are the conservatives not filtering people?

Obviously someone failed to do their due diligence.

How this guy made it this far into his candidacy is mind boggling.

Check the nomination process. It's pretty simple and if the riding isn't being strategically targeted it doesn't get a lot of eyes. Same goes for all he parties. They'll take anyone willing to stick their name on the ballot. Look at NDP in Quebec last election. The whole slate was a bunch of jokers an SJWs because they didn't think they'd actually win. Conservtive in Toronto = not gonna win = no vetting.
